To be NPIP you will contact Dr. Lyndon Badcoe: "Lyndon (AGR) Badcoe" <[email protected]>
He will arrange to come out and test 30 of your birds as well as do a premises inspection- he will want to know how you handle your eggs, rodent control, deal with possible contamination from wild birds and waterfowl in the area, and whether you bring in new adult birds. Once you are NPIP, you should only acquire new birds or eggs from another NPIP participant. Lyndon is delightful to work with. There is a fee for his time and for the lab testing.

Thanks, I already have most all of this set up with Julie Walker in Olympia....don't know where your guy is.
Julie has told me all I need & since she has the test records from our Fair, only a few flocks still need testing & it will come out to about $45.
Thanks for the tip on rodent control..I have traps all over & seldom catch any rodents.
I will make sure I spruce up every thing before I call her.
She represents my county area...so it is her office that I have to go through being in this county.
I also have to spruce up on my record keeping, as I give vaccines & hatch, so birds hatched & records should be kept, am I wrong here?
What about eating eggs?
Do they go over how they are handled??
I do the Dept of Ag cleaning & have fresh labeled cartons and add my Farm name & address stickers.

Such a cute photo Clover!!!!!!!!!

I am done with Marek's vaccine...here is some of the victims........
Edited to add: These are "Buck-u-pines"

Did another pen of OE chicks, and the Bantam Barnies.
Still, had about 99% of the vaccine to destroy...seems such a waste, oh well, nothing we can do about it.

Now out to clean coops, but before I go;
Fed Ex pulls in my drive & a bitty gal jumps out with a box & we opened it...
And inside is GF cookies & cake & a box of regular cookies for DH, and lovely Christmas kitchen towels and a gorgeous over-night tote bag with chickens on it that is so beautiful..I will get a pic soon...all from T-Hi!!!!!!!!!!!

She & DDs are so wonderful!!!!

Explore this link well once downloaded. It has all kinds of tools to keep your computer clean and running right as well as getting rid of un necesaary start up software, ram smart, restore, uninstall, it goes on and on. Been using it for years. It also has a malware cleaner. Between these two links and Microsoft Essentials it's free sailing. Just remember to do maintence.

well, the Christmas tree is UP, and two of the strings of lights we put on it beforehand, are lighted and pretty
yippiechickie.gif

too much trouble to remove the third one, so we'll just add another one --- I run "icicle" lights up and down the trunk, pull the dangling strings out the branches, lights the interior of the tree, leaves plenty of room for ornaments on the branches

smells wonderful
droolin.gif

many more boxes of ornaments and decorations came in, than I even knew we had --- will be sorting out what to pass along to others who don't have sufficient --- much of the stuff is leftovers from the past (from people who liked "theme" trees --- far too many plain gold and plain silver balls -- far too many cutesy cotton stuffed figurines -- )

I'll put our traditional REAL birds' nest in the branches, and most everything I will put up is multicolored or patterned -- a lot of it red and white striped

for a number of years I collected various birds to put on the tree, and I will be on the lookout for CHICKENS to perch on the branches; pity I can't put real ones up but they'd make such a mess ...

Julie quit a couple months ago................

Lyndon doesn't quite know all the in's and out's, so it's going to be a difficult year getting renewed or certified this year.

stopped at dels and they had tylan injectable, my two birds have a week... tomorrow is unscented bleach and everything washed down. its all frozen right now...never did get above freezing. both birds got 3/4 cc shot. what I read says 3 days of shots. after that, if not better...

Well, hopefully my records are still there.
When I spoke with Julie a few months ago she said my test records were there on record from 4 flocks I brought to the Fair....as far as the new guy, why would he make it harder to get certed?
Should just follow protocol...Julie said she had a team that comes out.
Surely that team is still there?
Oh well...cannot see why they'd deney me???
I gots rodent control & clean coops & netting over the tops...and 4 of the flocks have been tested, 1 flock is NPIP already, 1 flock (Javas) and the Turkeys to go....
Say they do inspect incubators & chick pens, correct?
Any pointers there?

Someday, you really, really need to enclose your workshop & get a woodstove in there.....you are gonna catch your death in that cold shop!!!

No I don't think so. That would just mean that much more wood I would have to put in plus I would either end up feeding the dragon or huddling in front of it to stay warm. Seee this way I just have to move fast to try to stay warm. I do well but my feet FREEZE ! No matter what. Right now I am wearing reg socks, insulted socks and insulted boots. AND MY FEET FREEZE. So Today I sold 5 good size items and took orders for 3 more. Of the five today 4 of them are going to one BYCER on the OR coast. Thank you Carrie aka cbreezerentals.
