This is why having my DH traveling for his job works for us. It was so much nicer to have him gone during the week, and have him happy when he came home on the weekends. Even now there are times when I am just plain ready for him to go back to work. It is less stressful for me when it's just me and the critters.

It is also nice to have your 'space' where you have it nice & stressfree as you designed it.
This being winter is even tougher here for me, with DH "underfoot" constantly.
I want to watch exercise videos..and drag out my weights & machines to get my PT done...eat smallish meals..have my teas.
he wants Monster Trucks shows and loud car racing...COPS shows, sirens wailing...cops arresting people fighting

Meat, potatoes, desserts & fried everything......you know, guy food!

In such a small space it can cause quite the friction.
Sometimes I just want to pack a small bag & go stay in a Motel overnight for PEACE & quiet..(no meals to cook, no dishes to do!!).....rest, it would be such a treat!!

I would say you can come and stay with me as long as we avoid each other for parts of the day. lol DH is going to be away a lot during the first 3 months of 2012. So I have an extra bed and a very nice bathroom for anyone that wants a bit of time out.

That really stinks. I'm sorry you lost your Shamo hen Illia.

I hope you're able to get another, but I know you were pretty fond of that hen.

The cuckoo Araucana and Wheaten Ameraucana are settling in. They're free ranging with the rest of the flock now, although it was touch and go for awhile. The Araucana challenged everyone in the yard, no matter if she was half their size or not, and the Wheaten is so timid, (probably from being intimidated by the Araucana while they were cooped up together during initial integration) that I worried about her getting beat up on.
Looks like everyone is settling down now, although the Araucana will still take a run at someone until our Light Sussex who IS the Queen Bee gives her what for. The Wheaten in the meantime just tries to stay invisible. Neither of them are laying right now.

That's Araucana for ya

My Sussex, despite her size (although my Blue Partridge Brahma is catching up fast!!) is actually not queen here. The Shamo used to be, but now the new inhabitants (Tolbunt boys, moved in after being kinda homeless) are kings.

I am very aware, a 5mg tab is not going to cause an OD. I have a chronic disease and am well schooled in the medication department thanks to that. the most common pain med given is hydrocodone 5-500. you wont keel over from 2.5 mg of that. thank you though, for looking out for those who might not know.

Wanted to ask you...do any of the pain meds and NSAIDS upset your digestive tract at all?
I get a reaction that is quite unpleasant, like the stomach (intestinal) flu...achy tummy, & all the rest.
sad.png

For me I worry more about my kidneys than I do about my stomach. I probably should think about digestive issues. After I use all the pain meds I have for the day I switch over to 800mg of Advil. I would much rather take a opiate than a Nsaid. The opiates have fewer side effects, than any other pain med on the market. A person still has to be responsible with the use of any medication. The State now limits how much a Doctor can give a person. It makes me angry that the State now has the power to keep me from receiving the only med that makes a difference with my pain. I have tried everything else, and I am still willing to try other alternatives. All I know for sure is that the quality of my life is so poor without pain meds. I desperately want to function and be able to at the very least keep up my home and gardens. Without pain management, I fail to function. The pain levels are often in the 7 to 9 range. I have passed kidney stones without a lot of complaint. It's not fun. I wish it wasn't this way, but it is and I know that it will not kill me. It only truly effects how much I can get done at any given time. I have so many interesting thing I could be doing at my age, and instead I am stuck in a body that doesn't seem to like me very much.

You mentioned surgery, and for me it has been hit and miss. I have had some surgeries that I recovered from without any troubles, and then there are the surgeries that have only added to my overall discomfort. I think that the most disappointing was the foot surgeries. All I got out of it was the fact the I really do have nerve damage. I admit that I was hoping for a better outcome. It just didn't happen.

PS O; don't worry I have ADD and I often can forget what was posted last night. That and I think that we all need to vent at times. It feels safe to do it here. It's not like we would go telling your DH or close personal friend. I think; What happens in the WA should stay on the WA thread.

Your story reminded me of the time we had an escapee. It was around midnight, and I think we were in bed when we got a loud knock on the door. The guy identified himself as a Renton Police Officer, We opened the door and he asks us if we can Identify a bunny. Our dear lop eared bunny had spent hours excavating a neighbors front porch. We had to walk around the block to get her. There were an unbelievable number of people out watching PJ dig. So I grabbed her and offered to fix the neighbor's garden bed. The homeowner was so sweet about it, and refused any help from us. We hauled our dear truant bunny. I must say that is the only time we have ever had a police officer knock on our doorIt is a shame that you didn't get your chase on film. It sounded like BamBam gave you all a run for your money.

That's a very good thing!

I think you are so right about that. I am just not very good at having a bunch of drama around me.

I am also grateful that I nor have any of my family have never been on the 5 o'clock news. lol

I think that one of the neighbors thought we had a bunny. Otherwise the officer must have been going door to door asking. We only had one bunny at the time. I often let her roam the yard, and that night I didn't check to make sure she was in her hutch. I still get the giggles when I think about the officer asking us to identify the bunny.

You've got to imagine him shaking his head leaving the scene, "I joined the force for this?!?!"

I can't say I ever thought of it that way. It's going to be fun tell DH this in the AM.

Darn I missed you! I should just give you a call.

DH nearly worked me to death today. We rented a big rototiller and tilled the garden, and the chickens run, plus we added a patch for the raspberries. He made it longer than I thought he would.
ya.gif
So I may need some more raspberry canes. The raspberry plants I have are all in big pots. It will be better to have them in the ground. We were able to till in all the the compost bin, and some of the dirty chicken straw. This spring I am going to raise the meat birds in the garden space. We are going to fence it so that the dogs can't get in to the garden. We will have a bunch of puppies about that time. The only thing that I am not sure of is where I am going to start the seeds. I may have to set them up in the living room. The greenhouse is full of geraniums, and the garden window is even fuller with the Anthuriums that are growing like weeds. I just need more greenhouse space. lol
