I agree. My Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ams are sweety pies. Especially the ones I just picked up from Cheryl! And I too have a Buckeye. She is a sweety too!

The crazies are the Cree line!!!
I have asked Illia about hers and she responded that they were so nice "as like puppies"
Made me jealouse right there!!

Pipsnpeeps birds (I am thinking) are a much "tamer" bird....Cree birds are wacko!!!!!!!!!
CPArtist birds are nice too (that would be the line you got from Cheryl, via me)
But Cree birds are crazy!!

I can't speak for all the Ameraucanas as the only experience I have are with my original 2 from Pips&Peeps and the new Wheaten from Illia who I haven't had much interaction with. But my Pips&Peeps girls will run to me (looking for treats of course) and are personable. Harper tries to keep the peace among the flock in a passive manner and Dilly, the lavender is a family favorite as she seems to march to the beat of her own drummer and lives in a world of her own making. She often wanders off by herself, is not intimidated by anyone, nor is she aggressive. If she could hum dreamily to herself I'm sure she would. She's more of a "la-la Lavender"...

Oh, foxtails. They're the bane of my existence. They also do nasty things in between dogs' toes, in their mouths, and generally on any animal anywhere. They get in the ear canals of my cocker spaniel on a regular basis. I'm pretty convinced we pay our vets' rent for the entire summer. Hate foxtails...

Sneaking in to say Hi!!!

My DDs are going to SDs for tomorrow. It will be very strange to have a quiet house on Christmas Eve. It will be the first time in 17 years that I will be home alone. I guess I have alot of strange new adjusting to start getting used too.

Hey Kim - it has been a while. Weren't you the one who actually did put a gingerbread chicken coop together, or were planning to? I was hoping you'd share photos with us.

Beautiful story, and my first time reading it. Thank you so much for posting it. Where did it come from?
Thanks again -

I am on lap top and it is hard to type. My desktop died. Hope to fix it after first of year.
I have been trying to keep up andread....but been busy and have missed many pages. I would love to read Greg's story. Can any one direct me to page and

okay chicken pros....question:

I have 5 orps in the house, room is in the 60s (can't make it any cooler unfortunately). They are only 9 weeks old. How much shock to their system would it be to try and transfer them outside? I would have a heat lamp in their "coop". We are suppose to be in 20 for nights and 30 for days the next week. But i am afraid this is just too cold for them. They are just so big even for the pen I made in the spare room. They would prefer something bigger.

Also they can be a bit smelly in the house.
