survived another birthday (one of the milestones), survived Christmas morning, DH fixed me a great breakfast, everyone was happy with the presents they got, and the cat had great fun with the discarded wrapping paper, while the bows now decorate the tree

amazingly, Roxy-dog did NOT want to mess with the presents nor the leftover wrappings

chickens were happy to get a few extra treats (sunflower seeds and apples); they cooped up early last evening so as to wake everyone up for a SPECTACULAR sunrise

our own little private sunrise giving-of-thanks

as the sun touched the valley east of us, the mist rose; you could almost see figurines in the mistiness -- it rose and spread, then gently disappeared to reveal the clumps of tall evergreens .... in some ways better than a "white" Christmas --- we've had frost and silver thaws here, enough the last week or so

so back to the computer to take care of a few chores that I missed doing yesterday, while watching all that football .... the O line did a relatively good job; Jackson made fewer goofs than usual ... pity my opponent in fantasy football had Lynch on her team ...

Well looks like my efforts on Face Book are starting to work. For those not on FB. I have posted several pics of my art for sale. Last night I posted I would continue to take orders and sell as long as I had items to sell and people wanting to order.

"See the big box stores. Look they are all dark and closed for Christmas. But lookie here I am still taking orders. And will continue as long as I have items to sell and people who need to finish shopping." Amazingly I made my last at 11:30pm and will be delivering local orders today.

I'm sorry to be a downer, but I need some sympathy. This is the first Christmas without Mom, and almost certainly Dad's last Christmas. Christmas will never be the same again. Not that it was ever a movie Christmas, but it's the only Christmas I know. To top it off, my sisters and I are going through Mom's clothes so we can take what we want before they're gotten rid of. It's the only time we're in the same place. I don't want a repeat of the beaded purse debacle.

We lost my mother in law on christmas day 27 years ago. she died of breast cancer at only 58 years old. we still really miss her. You still have your chicken family that love you
