Did my PET yesterday. They told me I would have no side effects from the sodium fluoride.
I got a very nice headache and beautiful nausea. Guess I'm just special.

Should have result next week.

On another note.... I received this US AG census thing that we are required by law to fill out.
Anybody, gotten one of these???

My neighbour called me the other day in panic. Seems he got one and didn't know what to do. I did not get one so really don't know. My first thought is IMO It is big brother randomly trying to watch over us. I do know that when we were registered with USDA for our goats. There "may have been similar" items that just never made it back to the mail box. Of course that is just a RUMOR and the one who started said RUMOR is still walking free. IMHO it is just another attempt to find out who is trying to provide FRESH CLEAN food ! And IF I were to get said survey. It would not make it back to the mail box because there is no proof wether it got here or not.
OF COURSE I AM NOT ENCOURAGING ANYONE TO BREAK THE LAW ! ! ! !

still rain here, no snow yet --- the chickens were telling me today that they do NOT like this weather they think I've provided, even though they were just delighted with the leftover fish sandwich I shared with them

I don't care for catfish, especially not deep-fried catfish sandwiches; DH said he was bringing fish home but didn't know a) what kind of fish and b) that it was breaded and fried, not grilled

anyway, the chickens got their exercise, running around chasing each other, each thinking another had the "choice" bits ... while Roopert was running after each of them making sure that he could supervise everything

amusing to see a rooster trying to run six ways at the same time

anyway, it IS a cold and penetrating rain, not the sort of climate I like for adding onto the chicken run; I'll dump off the covering tarp after we coop the beasties up for the evening -- they are mostly hanging out on the branches I threw into the run, so they don't have to walk around on the cold cold ground

Yes, I got one 10 days ago and freaked out! I thought it was because I had NPIP AI tests done and thats WSU-USDA and now we are on the list. We have to fill them out even if we dont have birds now it says. I will send it in when im dont filling it out. There are no right or wrong answers. No good or bad.

Hallo, Washingtonians! Figured I'd toss out an introduction here. I live in Anacortes with my wife and 3yo son. We have 2 chicken-friendly dogs (a Boston terrier and a boxer/pit mix). We bought a house last summer and I took that opportunity to fulfill my dream of a small backyard flock. I got a coop and found a craigslist ad with lots of pullets on Whidbey Island. I ended up taking 1 RIR, 1 Australorp and 2 golden-laced Wyandottes. The RIR and the Australorp were clearly red in the face and laying. The owner had a huge flock, though, and couldn't remember when the Wyandottes were chicks. I figured they'd be laying within a month or so. Well ... 3.5 months later, we finally are getting eggs from one of them and the other is getting redder and redder, so hopefully we'll see an egg from her any day now.

Any others in this area? Skagit has been a bit of a shock to my system. I never realized what a city girl I was until I moved here. But we've grown to love it. Well, that's about it. Hi! Hi!
