Not so much snow here...maybe 3 inches...but 20+ mph winds make life miserable. an elbow on the well (water well) that is some 500+ feet from our house (and mom and dad's) had just a bit too much exposure and froze. So, get home....get to haul 400 some ft of extension cords (have outlet out by parent's shed) out to well to put light in hole. Well fixer already thawed the elbow. Then we haul 10 hay bales out and pack them around well to block the wind. Took us over an hour in 20 mph winds...temp at 6 degrees...making wind chill factor somewhere around -15. I think I froze my tookus off...nope....I just checked. It is still there.

Oh, and because of the wind...there is no snow in some places and there is a foot in others. On one side of the house there is a drift that is nearly 4 ft high...other side...None.

Try those hand warmers... ya know the ones that go inside boots or gloves when skiing? those should help keep the inside warm for 12 hrs and with a couple of them the temp should not drop to far down..

what about taking them into like the bathroom, a small room, cover them with a towel and the hand warmers. maybe some bottles of hot water. Gosh. All I can think of is to cover them to keep the heat in. I hope your electricity is back soon. Oh, RR let us know.

The pics I have seen shows she has cabinet with multi racks of eggs. She said she has the racks by the stove. Said the roads are too nasty they don't want anybody driving and they aren't leaving just want prayers. Wish she was closer I would be taking a generator to her.
