Saying prayers for those who are out of power and need help. Sadly I am too far away to be of any help to any of you. Seriously folks They are saying this is going to be a nasty "ICE STORM" so get ready and stay home you DO NOT want to be out trying to drive in freezing rain.

Just got text from Red Rooster. She may not have power until tonight or tomorrow. Her cell phone is going dead and sheis losing chicks like crazy.
Oh I'm so sorry!!

dang it!!!

Well, was up till 2 am, Terry was out over the other side and was having a hard time, truck breakn and stuff going wrong, hadn't heard from him all day, so I got through at around 8pm he had chains breaking!!! He didn't get home till an hour ago! we had freezing rain overnight, so I am getting ready to head out and see if I can stay right side up!! I feel so bad about all the power loss and egg troubles!! You guys hang in there!!! so far so good here!!

not that it couldn't happen at any second, they did close schools tho so the whole valley, tricities, walla walla ect are closed. Winter storm warning in affect till 4pm friday. I proofed some sourdough last night so I'm making some bread, I have a few bananas left so I'm making banana bread too. found an old movie set at Wally world for 10 bucks! Has 50 movies, musicals, mostly black and white, which I love!! I watched the Dorsey brothers movie!! I must be an old soul! I LOVE swing music and movies from the 30 and 40's!!! When I was around 6 or 7 we lived in MI and we had 4 channels....hmm kinda like I do now!! I used to watch this show, Bill Kennedy at the movies. He played all the old movies, and used to pretend I could tap dance and I would try to sing the old songs!! Oh and I'm gonna stick my nose into the eastside, westside discussion and I know this sounds rude, but 1) I wouldn't ask a westsider what they think of us cause I personally don't care what they think!! It is what it is! We live on two different sides and although I have lived over on the westside, (Silverdale, Poulsbo, and Lynnwood) unless you have lived over here you don't know what its like. Visiting is not the same. So, everyone has an opionion, just like mine, which I will keep to myself to avoid insulting anyone.

Blessing for a better day!!!

Power came back on early this morning. It was out from 10:15 last night until about 5:00 am. The LG styrofoam incubator kept the heat in much better than the Brinsea. I had a corner in the LG with no eggs, and put a zip lock full of boiling water there. It maintained a temp in the 90's while covered with blankets & towels. After 2 hrs, the Brinsea was down to 85, so I popped those eggs into the LG too. Hope they are all ok!

We have been getting freezing rain since yesterday. Almost non-stop. Although my friends who live about a 1/2 mile east of us, and maybe a 100 ft higher up, have been getting snow until just recently when theirs changed to freezing rain too. They have about 3-4 more inches than we do!!!

I am now done with this and anxiously waiting for the warmer weather to arrive!!!!

Hope those of you without power can stay warm!!! Thinking of you all and hope everyone and their critters are all ok!

NO FAIR!!! our power went out at 5 yesterday and still isnt on!! glad yours is on though and eggs stayed warm

OHHHHH.... Its a Cannon DSLR of some sort then... no point and shoot can get that kind of quality... though point and shoot do have the widest "depth of field" but its more fun. Cannon Rebel of some sort if on my to get list.... i actually bought an incubator last spring instead of the camera... same price..... but i got tired of ordering chicks through the feed store and having them DOA... I wanted to hatch chicks of rare breeds.... without the cruelty of shipping. I know if i was shipped in a box with 2-3 days of food i still wouldn't like being forgotten about in a truck or in a hot storage room (or cold)
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the camera body is the Rebel T2i. The lens is some fixed focal length something with a big aperture for the purpose of night shots.

Cameras are nice but I'd do the incubator first myself too. LOL

Just logged on to say we still had power & it went out, killed the puter, came on, went off, came on again & the puter went into safe mode, then woke up & now I am going to say HI we are warm & OK but gonna stay off the puter until this storm is over...hope everyone is OK !!
I may be curled up in blankets with 22 6 day old chicks in my lap~~~
We can always go get in the van & let it idle & keep babies warm until power comes back on...or hook up the generator & run heater & heat lamps.
We will be OK.
Parents in Elma are OK & still had power as of 1 hr ago...but 18" of frozen slush & freezing rain coming down in buckets.

Just woke up. Its SNOWING outside. a True snowday. I am going to be cozy inside. with some coco.

Seeing the quilt on the floor almost done made me realize 2 things: i didn't plan to finish it this fast. and i do not have backing or the batting, or a ribbon baby bias for the edges.... -sigh- not going outside today. guess i will have to sew something else.
i can make more potholders or decorate kitchen cloths.
-yawn-
if anyone is driving today, be safe.
