OK I am asking is there ANYBODY close to T HI that has any kind of heat. She just texted me she has hd no heat since early and is getting very cold. She can't get her car out. Can anybody help PLEASE

Hope someone near by can help, or neighbors? We're just flooding out here.

I am sad. My parents have been lying. My boyfriend finally told me the secret. 2 more chickens killed. in the past few days.... and this is unexpected.
Dad saw this in the pen the other night. Dad now goes to the chicken coop with a shotgun. Coyotes, Owls and now Bobcats... and it can climb.....
As you can see this is a Daytime photo of it too. Good sized kitty. I don't know what birds it has killed. John says they wouldn't tell me cause one of them looked like one of my favorites. BF knows who is important to me and will take a look around to see who is missing....

Ok sorry I also missed another update RRF has got a generator going and says her chicks are ok but that she thinks she lost all eggs in the bator. I told her not to give up too soon I have heard some amazing stories of recovery.

I'm sure people want to help but I think a lot of people are in the same situation and it's very difficult to get around out there. Tell her to bundle up and get under the covers. We don't heat our bedroom and I was toasty warm all night.

This won't help her now but when this blows over, to be prepared for next time, maybe she can look for a used low wattage generator on craigslist to plug the pellet stove into. I've seen them for cheap. And kerosene heaters work great in an emergency as long as you know how to use them properly.

John just called. he found a body in the snow. He looked up and there are bits of the chicken in the tree too.... Bobcat climbed 30ft up the tree for dinner......
-sigh- that is 3 chickens now in just a few days.

well i am going to finally go to bed. i have finished the size of the baby quilt i wanted. slowly putting the piecing together... i am now down to just putting the colums together... then the columns will go together....
Tired, but i made progress.

glass of milk before bed.... and the milk tastes like ice cream.... its slushy too.

The lighting is not the best.... i have it laid out on my floor... no room on the table....
I don't have a pattern that i am following... just something simple, squares and triangles.... this is the 3rd quilt i have ever made. not bad right?

Very nice. It will be washable, won't it?

Very nice. It will be washable, won't it?

last i checked flannel is washable.... though this time i didn't prewash the fabric. i wanted to see what will happen when done. if anything it will make the stitches tighter. and they are shades of blue, they will bleed together anyways. I may soak it when done, dry, and put it in a wash cycle and dry again.... flannel only gets better with abuse. and i want it soft for my sisters baby.

It's been snowing all morning here but doesn't look much different than yesterday. Hard to tell. We went out to eat last night, when it wasn't snowing but was starting to drizzle a bit. The roads were fine, but everything was shut down. I thought it was bizarre. We went to Northgate Mall, and everything was closed...we ended up finding an Indian restaurant nearby that was open. I think we escaped the majority of freezing rain that the south end got, but I don't think we'll be going anywhere today.

My chickens are fairly well protected under some large evergreen trees, so I haven't had coop problems. There's a bit of snow in one corner of the run but nothing major. The roof has maybe two inches of snow on it? I got them to come out after the first snow, where there was still some green ground, but now they want nothing to do with it.
