TY CR. Not wanting to kill the messenger here so don't take it that way.

Once I started reading first thread post I thought OK I'll do as they ask and look to see if my questions already were addressed.
Read a few posts then nothing as the thread is locked. LOL!

I filled out the form so thats good.
If they had kept the thread open eliminating what ever it was that locked it down it would have been less work for them in the long run instead of answering a lot of the same questions in form.

Hi All!
made it to Wyoming last night at 10 pm, after I spent the night in the Walmart parking lot in Post Falls ID!!

Dang girl, glad you're safe and poop on all those rude dudes who didn't offer to help! Hope the visit with the kids goes well.

So I just went out to check on the birds and let the layers out to free range, which I did. Then I was walking over to the Orps coop area, and came across a HUGE pile of feathers. I'm so sad! I let out my Lav Orps yesterday, and something took one of my two split black hens!

At least I still have a pair left, but why one of the splits?!?!!?! Ugh. DH closed the birds in last night when he went to feed the goats, so he didn't notice the one missing as he just closed their gate. So now I am rethinking even working on the project. I might sell the whole flock and that would leave me more room for English Orps or BLRW's. Bummer.


All the chicks that have hatched are doing well. However, the Marans that had pipped died. I hear others cheeping in there, but no pips yet. Worried about them!

Sorry to hear about losing the split Orp.

I hope you get some successful hatches out of your remaining eggs!

Hello Washing ton. My neighbor next door feeds the feral cats, and doesn't care that she is feeding raccoons and possums.

When I was a kid, in Southern Oregon, California King snakes and timber rattlers by the coop. Yikes. DH assures me that here are only garter snakes here. ( I haven't lived here for very long)

We have a woman in our area who feeds and has been encouraging the growth of coyotes, including one that has mange. It came into our yard and was sleeping on a bale of straw not too far from my chickens. My two dogs saw him or her off though, and it hasn't been back.

Hey guys !
I have been laying low & resting & dealing with yard stuff in this (lately) nice weather !
I am so happy it is february !
That means spring is just around the corner !!!!!!!!

I have also just downloaded the show catalog for Stevenson....planning that out, and what to bring or if I really want to deal with a 2 day show~~~~~~~~~

We are also finishing another hot bed for Dad, gotta take that to him this week.

Other than that, all's well here !

I still have the flu so Im laying low, the stuff is slowly working through my body. I can hardly wait to feel good again. I know its only been a couple of days that it seems like longer.
So Im doing a happy dance Im getting the two Splash hens that RisingStar was selling, now just need to find out how to get them up to me..

I did end up having 2 splash Marans hatch. So over a week of hatching, I have 5 Seramas, 5 BLRW and 2 Marans. I think I'm going start another batch early next week. I've had some requests for BLRW chicks. If anybody else wants chicks from any of my breeds, let me know so I can start collecting eggs. Still need to call Brinsea......

Hope everyone has a great night! We have Tae Kwon Do for my oldest and youngest DD's. DH is skipping it as he hurt his back (again!) last weekend and won't go to the chiropractor and have it dealt with. Than it's American Idol and CSI night!
