OOOOO I love Cabellas..... They are opening one up here near me this spring. I CANT wait I am almost giddy... I know its so bad. But I cant wait... Thanks for the reminder too I need to pick up bags for my food saver for when I do my Cornish's Chickens here in a few weeks.

You have Cornish already? I'm so jealous. I don't think our feedstore even sells them until March!

Yes, I have 10 Cornish Crosses, 9 Barred Rock and 4 Rhode Island Red Pullets that are 2 weeks old today. Our Co op doesn't get Cornish's in until the 2nd week of April. UGH I couldn't wait that long. ( My husband is in the Army and is gonna be gone then) Being my first time EVER raising chickens n butchering them myself I wanted to make sure he was gonna be here to help me. SO I ordered them online from Ideal. They will be ready March 18... Cant wait to taste them. I have heard they are so yummy.

I'm surprised some of you haven't mentioned this.
That scumbag Josh Powell was ordered to go get a psychco sexual evaluation by the court.
They found some things I'm sure will come out later on his computer which allowed the court the ability to use this tactic.
That was a legal tool used in order to get him to do a lie detector test.
That test he has no rights to what they ask so they of course was going to ask about his wife.
End of story for him legally his time was up he knew he'd be busted.
He also knew his kids were beginning to talk.
You put those two items together and the scumbag knew the gig was up.

That explains the suicide, but that's no reason to kill his beautiful children. There had to have been something else going on to make him want to kill both his boys and have them go out with him, otherwise it would not have mattered what the boys said once he's dead.  Perhaps without such media exposure those kids would still be alive today. I can't imagine that the state would allow in-home visitation if what was found on Josh's computer was that bad.

he is described by family members as extremely narcissistic and overly possessive, if it was his it was his and nobody was taking it from him, including his children. he stated he could not live without his boys so this is what he did. if he could not have them and control them, nobody else was going to get them either. earlier newscast says they think he incapacitated them with a hatchet before blowing the house up. media exposure does not cause a person to do that to children...he was twisted and deranged like his whacko father...

it's 64* outside, 78% humidity (actually it is raining and has been for some time, so make that 100%), SW winds at 15 mph

what we call "kona conditions"

tomorrow it's forecast to be 5* cooler

pity the poor tourists ... though possibly there are places on the island where it isn't raining ... we just can't see them from here

our friends Dave and Ruth tease us that we "always bring the rain with us" ... their suburban farm needs the precip ...

the chickens are back in underneath the kukui trees where the rain rarely penetrates ... and NO rooster survived the year (ha ha)

Sorry I was not accusing I was simply trying to say how I "try to function". I may even be guilty at times but it is not usually done on purpose.
The point of my original post was more a matter of there can be so many variables that we need to learn more facts before we jump to conclusions.
TC I am ok with you. But I bet you will admit I got you to think outside the box (so to speak).

I've got left-over pot roast from last night and need to make dinner for myself from it (DH will have scrambled eggs when he gets home from aquaerobics) but the idea of standing up and cutting up the meat, let alone turning it into something edible, doesn't sound like something I'm likely to do. Extra mile-and-a-half walk to check on pregnant cows, and dug up a chunk of sod for Ian and Sylvia (a lump where two cow-paths come together that I trip over constantly, so we all win) on top of all the usual, and that seems to have been the energy I'd otherwise have for cooking dinner.

Oh, well, not eating is not, in fact, an acceptable alternative. Must go find a sharp knife, I guess. Give me some advantage over the tricky bits I ignored last night.

Sorry CR, but everyone has their own opinion regarding judgement. One of the things we do, is have juries at trials - they are there to JUDGE, and they don't need to to walk in someone else's shoes, nor live their sorrows etc.

There is right, and their is wrong. And sometimes a grey area, but in the end, each man and woman must do the right thing. No "ifs", "ands" or "buts" about it, and no "well I had a lousy childhood", or "my dad beat me". We need to take responsibility for our own actions, and stop putting the blame somewhere else.

And since this is a democracy, you have every right to think differently than I do!

XXXXX 1000 Well said girlfriend, and to think he took a hatchet to them BEFORE the blast, that means RIGHT AFTER the boys walked in the house...the social worker's call had not yet gone through & those bueatiful babies were already gone.
HOW can you hack your kids ?
Or anyone else's kids ?
The whole issue makes me sick !
Depression does not make a person this way !

And he did it all after his wife wanted a divorce, he could not control her either, she wanted OUT & was taking the boys with her.
All was well up to the time the boys started talking~~~~~~~~~~
I hope they find her !
It upset me so bad when they found Lacey Peterson !!!!
