Actually there are people on this site that have gotten a 90% hatch rate from refrigerated eggs.

yep peeps have been known to buy fertile eggs at trader joes and put them in a bator and hatch em all out lol.

I have heard of this but RR do you realy think it a good plan?? :idunno  While it may work for some I don't personally think I would spend the time and effort. That is just my opinion and hey if it works for others great. THERE IS NO CUT AND DRY RIGHT AND WRONG !

well, either they hatch or they dont. the only thing lost is eggs you were gonna eat right?

I am not spending effort on them. The hen is.

Wow, that horse clip was awesome. Here is what it made me think of: I'm into dogs, not horses. I train using pure positive methods. It frustrates me so much that people feel like they still have to use horrific cruel methods (VERY COMMON) for competition dogs. I have done very well in advanced training competitions with my pit bulls using a non-leash correction method. Watching this girl with her horse I can see the same awesome respect and love that it is possible to have with any animal at ANY level of training if you WANT... But so many people don't want... too lazy or they are into "control". The whole Cesar Milan "dominance" crap.

OK, i'm done ranting! But I love that video and I'm going to show it to people who say you have to "show a horse who is boss"... : )

Hey, if anyone knows how to get ahold of Robin can you tell her Diane is desperate to get ahold of her! Thanks.

Yeah, I saw that doggone wood rat myself when I was locking up the other night. I shined my flashlight up into the rafters of the run and there was that beady eyed little guy staring back at me. Fortunately I wasn't surprised by him or I might have freaked! I ran and got a broom to shoo him out and my Golden took off after him but didn't catch him. He's not a "normal" looking rat in the naked tail, skeevy alley rat kind of way though. He's fuzzier, more like a gerbil looking guy so I feel kind of bad, but I cannot be feeding him or having him invite all his out of town relatives to party at our place in the middle of the night so I guess it's to Amazon I go for a rat zapper... You've been happy with yours, right Ogress?

Love my rat zapper!

We get both kinds of rats - the wood rats generally stay away from my coop, and instead hang out in a vovered area where I store lools and power equipment. They make huge nests quickly under the hood of the riding mower. I think I only once or twice caught a wood rat in the zapper; the rest have been Norway. I don't have the zappers near the tool shed.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh I got way worse and more to the point bullying than that...like I had zits on my back.....................zits on my.......................yeah ya know.
But I have always been tough, so never bothered me.
It bothered me in the way a pack of flies would bother a cow.............but I have always been tough & continue to be.
My sister however was born crying & was always a crybaby...every little thing bothered her...she is now a great financial manager at Wizards of the Coast (think Pokeman here)
MY PUTER IS SO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi CL -

Those are the come-backs for when she is bullied. The bullying I described in another post; but Olivia does cry easily. Drives me crazy that way! She even cries watching Spongebob!

I had a fun, interesting and slightly exciting afternoon. I got to send a scumbag to jail. Long story short He had stolen knives from Walmart then tried to take an employee hostage. I didn't know all these details when I chased him down and kept him cornered for the cops. When the first cop (who I knew) got there and not so nicely told the guy what he would do if he didn't show hands I knew it was serious stuff. At least I got to get in his face and compliment him on his nice bracelets just before they put him in the car !

Wow!!!

We love you CR!!!! (but please be careful)

Woo hoo I just figured out how to look at peoples pictures...

.... yup, that little video camera at the top of your screen is on and recording the entire time you are on BYC. Just have to find where they post it, and you can probably find the Ogress tweezing a few stray eyebrow hairs from her chin.

just kidding.

Here's my chick at 6 weeks

One of my silkies has decided to go broody again I think.  I got the 2 silkie eggs that are were under her and pulled out the ones in the fridge.  (they had been in there less then a week.)  6 total.  Should I wait till there's more?  I have only one silkie laying now if she went broody.

What you need to do for hatching eggs is keep them in a cool place (not cold) Also need to put in something like a egg carton with big end down and than lean the eggs to one side than lean to the other side do this 3-4 time a day.

Don't you mean Big end up? small end down? Or am I missing something here......
