Speaking of the Monroe show, does anyone know when the show catalog is going to be up? Haven't got ours in the mail and it's still not up on the Website.....it's only a month away!!!!

We had the same thing happen about 3 yrs ago. Ordered 60+ birds, over half were dead. They send the replacements, over 30, therre was only ONE chick peeping in the box when DH picked it up at the PO. We went thru the box one by one and manage to salvage 2 more who were pretty lifeless, but once they warmed up they came to life and were fine.

That was our last order. We bought our first incubator after that and hatch our own out now. For some reason, having hatching eggs shipped to me that don't hatch doesn't bother me as much as having a box of dead chicks mailed to me!!!!

I do think it had to do with having them shipped in Feb. If I ever did it again, I'd wait until April at least!

I agree. I got 25 chicks total and lost 2 and I cried. I am looking into getting a incubator. My only worry is I will end up with a batch of roos that I cant have and not know what I will do with them. But I think my kids would love watching them hatch.

I e-mailed Terra & asked when the catalog/flyers were coming.
They must be really busy & maybe the change over in Officers & voting has something to do with the delay...?

glad you all could make it yesterday. I would have invited everyone, but this was my FIRST event here, and wanted to make sure I got it right! Next time we'll have a ton of folks. It'll be even nicer when the weather warms up and we can sit on the verandah and sip iced tea, beers or whatever.

Oh, and thanks for the eggs - going to set them this weekend.

Weather was lovely, until suddenly it is not. Must be from CL's place. Got to go into town and get stuff - uugh!

BTW, FRF, those tiny blue eggs, Bantam Aruacana's? or Ameraucanas?

Careful !! It is soooooo addicting !!!

HEHE I know... I am so addicted to chickens already. I got my first 6 from the co op last April and since then it has been my mission to learn all I can about chickens.( I want to be a responsible chicken mama) And to think I didn't even want chickens.... Thank goodness my daughter has her daddy wrapped around her finger and together they convinced me to get them. ) Now I don't know what I would do without them. BUT I still don't know what I will do if I end up with a bunch of Roo's??? HUMM.
