Tough kid I will tell you that as I know NB and besides how cold it is the wind can be on you constantly some days.
Mine goes no where with out his cell and would have been on the phone whining to me once he found out the library was closed asking for money for lunch. LOL!

Ogress, Your poor son, I'm like that too - take everything literally and it hasn';t worked out well for me. If someone says "I'll call you later." I will be waiting for the call forever. Thank goodness no one has told me to take a long walk off a short pier. , yet. He's a good kid be nice!!

Another day where this parenting/job thing just did not work out. I feel terrible about this.

I have to work this week, and my kids do not have school. I was able to enroll DD in the day-camp at the community center, but Alex is too old. They don't have day-camps for teenagers. I enrolled him in Basketball Skills, but that is only from 9-12, and is down in Fall City. I picked him up after camp, took him to lunch and then had him walk a few blocks to the library while I worked another 4 hours. The Library was closed, and I did not know it until a few minutes before I picked him up when I mentioned I was going to go get him and someone told me it is closed for Presidents Day! I don't know why he did not walk the few blocks back to my office. He stayed out there in the cold and the rain, though he did stay under the porch so he was fairly dry. Thankfully I had him change out of the basketball clothes he was in, but he was only wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and a pair of jeans. No jacket. We had snow this morning and it only got to be about 40 today. Amazingly, he was in a good mood! I asked if he wished he had brought his cell phone or a Gameboy, and he replied that he was too cold to use them. He said the only thing he could think of were ways to stay warm. He kept walking circles around the library! Poor kid. I asked him why he did not walk to my office, and he replied that I told him to stay there until I came to get him. Poor kid. Why does he have to take everything so literally?

Wow that is amazing. Poor Alex. Maybe you could talk with him and try to explain that there are some times when it is OK to not do as told. Gotta give him credit he stuck it out and did as told and employed some pretty good thought process in how to stay warm. Rather than some mayhave done and just sat down and really got cold.

The 4H tack sale in Monroe is next weekend. It's a HUGE sale. You could try and sell it there. I sold a saddle there last year. And a volunteering with the saddle crew again this year. Drop it off Saturday for the sale on Sunday.

Except Monroe is at least 2 hours away. Dropping it off then going back on Sunday would be 8 hours of driving and a lot of gas. Thanks though. Wish I lived closer.

My DW told me when I had 12 chickens NOT to get any MORE... I have 29 now with 7 more on the way

Thankfully the wind was not blowing yesterday - the wind has been pretty constant lately, and blowing so hard that it is sometimes difficult to open the car door. Yesterday was very rainy (like today), but no wind. After I picked Alex up, I still had to go back to work for another 90 minutes as I had one appointment left. I told him he could come in and wait in the waiting area. He insisted on waiting in the car, so my boss went out there and brought him a candy bar. The sweet kid wasn't even the least bit upset with me for all that waiting.

One thing with Autism is that autistic kids take almost everything literally and pretty much don't lie and don't deviate from the rules. I don't know if it is that or if he is just a good kid. When he was a lot younger he once got into DH's movie collection and had all the disks on the floor out of their cases. I told him he better get them back into their proper cases or Dad would have a cow when he got home. We were putting them away when we heard the garage door open. Alex tore off down the stairs. I asked him where he was going because we were not done yet "I'm off to see the cow that dad has with him!" I still laugh when I think of that.
