So where is everybody - cooking dinner I bet. Me, I'm making pigeon pie. Cleaning out the fridge.

I was reading all the stories about people losing their pets. It's very sad. They ask for so little and they give us so much. For anyone who has a hard time with euthanasia, just remember, they deserve to be free of pain, no matter how hard it is for us.

Their light will shine on in our memories.

oooh, I was just looking at this old WWII horizon from a Spitfire (got is as a gift after I got my Pilot license), and then noticed the writing on the side - how cool is this!

and the egg bit!

COOL !!!!!!!!!!! But ya know, nowadays if you write "handle like eggs" some jerk will test your packing job~~~~~~~~~

X2 I did it, I planned, I dug the grave, I had the head stone, the wrap she would be buried in, and took her to the vet's backdoor and my wonderful vet came outside, sat in the door of the van & spoke softly, stated the IV, did the deed, and my beautiful best friend went to sleep.

Definitely agree!! I can't even count how many times I had to assist, and EVERY time I would start to cry!! My boss would say if you want to know how much "The Pet Health Clinic" just look at Julie!! It really is a privilege to be able to end the suffering, and pain, it's so hard to watch when someone makes the decision to let them go naturally. That is just MY opinion from 10 yrs as a Vet tech.

Ok everyone, just for INFO, I make ceramic pots, some are for cremains, some I will make using pet ashes in the making of a pot. If you want to remember your pet, you can get him or her cremated and I will include the ashes in the urn, inside, in the clay, or in the glaze.

I don't like burying pets, since predators can dig them up - had it happen.

Sad day today. Just got back from the vet with Abby. She woke up today with one of her front leg knees/elbows? really swollen and I forget what they called it, something with an H, fluid on the joint, can't drain it. Prednisone or Surgery were the only options and he advised neither at this time. While examining her, said he didn't like the sound of her breathing, he could tell she had limited lung capacity and suspected lung cancer. The x-rays confirmed. She came home with me because she still has a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye, but he said it would be soon. He guestimated a month if we are lucky, probably much less.

It is a good day to crawl under the covers and hide away for awhile.....................

Ah geeze Louise... So sorry to hear about Abby. It's tough, even when they're ill, how they'll still rally with a little bit of attention. Darn animals will break your heart.
