Well I will continue to be happy with the sunshine we have! ! !

Clear here, some rain/sleet overnight but nothing since I awoke at 4am to brilliant stars, crushing leg pain, and a BG of 70mg/dl. I am pretending that acetomoniphen and carbs were sufficient to correct those errors, got a couple of more hours sleep, and all I have to do todayis figure out how to cope with the fact that Tertia (bearded silver EE) has started laying mid-olive drab eggs in the (editorial comment withheld) bathroom.

My friend-since-preschool's daughter deputed her son and two lovely late-teenaged grandsons to my house yesterday and even without a chainsaw they safely took the horrible widowmaker out from over my gate and the big complicated heavy apple snowbreak off the fence that's the last thing between cows and road. They also moved the oiltank stand from down by the truck to up in the west yard, and after looking at it I decided that a modified barrel-style garbage can is going to make a fine coop box, with a plywood-and-asphalt shingle roof to keep the cold out. So I may get the two eldest EE hens out by Tuesday, maybe, barring snow, calving disasters, and other items of horror.

I keep smacking up against my limits of mind and body, they get smaller every day, hard to piffle on about chickes when I am so very full of fail.

My son and dauighter were in Duvall last night when it started snowing here. The roads were plowed and clear up here so I said you can go into town but have that cell near you.

Sure enough it starts snowing and sticking on the roads. I finally get ahold of her 30 minutes later and she says but it's raining in Duvall. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

She has lived here long enough to know that matters not.
By the time she picked up her brother and got up here there were cars in the ditch and stopping in front of her.
I told her brother just tell her if she doesn't feel safe park it on the side of the road and walk home.

They made it home but she got a good dose of reality about all the factors involved driving in snow.
She has done it twice before but conditions were better.

Been snowing off and on all day here and sometimes with the sun shining.

I guess I should have not been so fast to brag about sunshine. Within 5 min of that post HUGE wind and snow.and now back to that big bright light in the sky. What the heck.

Since you're dying anyway, why don't you go tubing behind a car and make a day of it???????

Seriously ?
It is sun on & off here with occasional drizzle, and a nice warm 48 degrees here !!!
What a difference !
And PLEASE Keep your snow there !
