So, I sold 8 pullets because I couldn't give away the eggs, and now I have customers lined up against the wall, oh wait, that's for executions.

And of course, there's the guy who wants a dozen hatching eggs a week. wonder what he's doing with them all. Ooh, I have to go downstairs and candle tonight.

Going to look for mini flashlight. . .

check you chappies later . . .

It's crazy how much they want to charge these days.... I live in the city and we are only allowed 7 hens at one time. (Shhh dont tell anyone about the 10 meaties in my shed LOL.... ) But with a family of 5 and me who bakes at least 3 times a week I never have enough eggs.( I just got the white store brand eggs... I will use them in my baking but my kids will no longer eat them. UGH I need more chickens I <3 our fresh eggs.

I am making salmon patties and have no eggs...unless I grab some out of the javas or Buckeyes LOL !!
DH comes in for breakfast the other day & says "What's cooking ?"
I say "$40 Omelete" LOL

I better not grab no Buckeye eggs as Chickmanna is coming tomorrow for a 1 doz + extra pickup............and have an classified person waiting for 1 doz + extras javas.............

So then I go out to the layer coop & find 2 fart eggs..............look like MINIATURE pheasant eggs~~~~~~~~~~~

We have a new Food Co-op here in Tacoma and I think it's wonderful and am pleased that folks are moving toward more locally grown stuff, but OMGOSH. Today on Facebook here's what they posted:

New and ON SALE! Local pasture eggs from XXX Farm in XXX. Now $5.75/dz (Normally $6.99/dz)

I understand the person providing the eggs needs to make their money too, but I thought that was pretty steep. Doesn't say they're organic eggs or anything. Glad I'm getting my fresh eggs from my backyard. Oh, and I changed the name of the farm and the local town to protect myself and anyone else's feelings, (although I don't think it's anyone here.)

wow ... we sell our eggs for 4$ a dozen, and we cannot keep our eggs to leave the sign out, We have a few regulars who come and buy every egg we have and do not bat an eye at 4$, most give us a fiver and wave us off when we offer change.

Geeze.... Our ladies need to get on the ball and lay us some eggs... LOL. Only 3 of my 4 girls are laying... I THOUGHT Falcon was laying when I got two strange eggs awhile back but nothing since then. I cant wait until my 4 other RIR babies grow up. I need some insta grow.

Not with the Schering Plough Vaccine is very mild and if you miss someone.....

The State Vet does not recommend any other vaccine because the rest of the vaccines ont he market can spread bird to bird and cause an outbreak; and has done so in the past few years.

CL - I hear you on the Tuna; my MIL gives us home-canned AHI TUNA NOT in oil! It's dry packed with a bit of salt and then pressure cooked in it's own juice. Completely wonderful and won't set off any allergies. My brother in law catches it. I'll see if I can find it (in the garage somewhere's)
You lucky lucky woman !!! It is an art to pressure can...one we need to carry on. I just buy a big tuna at the docks here & slab, steak & fillet.
Just hard to eat a sammy when the steak is so good poached/baked with Italian vinergrett & capers !
