Oh I love days like that! Love watching old movies - last week I saw "Never on Sunday" for the first time. There are so many good old films I need to see one day! Enjoy your Sunday...

P.S. I did get your PM CL, but the recipe didn't come through. The link just sent me back here! Maybe try a Copy and Paste? I don't know...

Malvina is apparently well, although I'm still stuck with chickies in the house and Malvina in a small box. Add to that a lingering case of the crud and I am not God's most grateful creature this morning.

I did, by myself, pull down a branch that had fallen heavy-end up, balanced on the twigs which are Bacchus' prefered tasty treat. Not a great photo of the twiggy bits, sorry, but the butt of the branch is about 8" in diameter and the place it broke from is over 20 ft. up:

Must go feed the Hamburgs and then go off to HD.

Well -thank goodness we finally caught the escaped rooster. I ended up using my nine-year-old's bug net

Thought he was in a shed and I wouldn't need it - but wouldn't you know when I got there he had escaped the shed too? UGH! It took a while - but we finally got him!

Yay, glad that the wayward rooster is no longer on the lam!

to say the least I made it home with Jet. He is a very smart, and active dog. He is going to need a lot of reminders of the rules. But he hasn't shown any sign of aggression towards DH or myself. He is so curious and inquisitive about his new surroundings. It is going to take sometime for him to be comfortable again.

Welcome home JB and Jet!

Wherever you're going, have a great time and we look forward to seeing the photographic evidence of your rustling.

Hi everyone, I'm kind of new around here, although we've had chickens for about a year and I also had chickens when I was a kid. My wife is recently fixated on salmon favorelles and I've had a really difficult time finding any local chick sellers who are selling them. Does anyone have any tips on finding some? I've been checking craigslist and the local feed stores to no avail. I live in Olympia, but I'd be willing to travel a couple hours to get them.... help?

You may get a response before this one, but I wouldn't get any Salmon Faverolles, either LF or Bantam from anyone except Cloverleaf Farm, or someone who has breeding stock originally from Cloverleaf Farm. I have two of her girls that I hatched and I LOVE them. Big, beautiful, friendly girls and dependable layers. I have been getting an egg from both of them almost every day since they started laying this winter. I've seen some listed locally on Craigslist and I wouldn't bother with them. I'm guessing they were hatchery stock and I thought their coloring was hideous, especially now that I've seen what good Salmon Faverolles should look like.
Cloverleaf is in Oregon. You may need to get on a list and be patient as I think she has a lot of orders for spring. Definitely worth the wait though!
