Hi everyone, I'm kind of new around here, although we've had chickens for about a year and I also had chickens when I was a kid. My wife is recently fixated on salmon favorelles and I've had a really difficult time finding any local chick sellers who are selling them. Does anyone have any tips on finding some? I've been checking craigslist and the local feed stores to no avail. I live in Olympia, but I'd be willing to travel a couple hours to get them.... help?

CloverLeaf is in Oregon and has some beautious Salmon Faverolles. Check with her.

Although I will say I won't miss instances like the phone call I got the other day. "Mom, I've got kind of an emergency here. It's snowing, and I have to get over to the dining hall to see if anyone has picked up my afternoon shift and I can't get the key to turn in the ignition." Really Lily? My first thought was, "I live 5 hours across the state from you - do you want me to drive over there and take you"? So, I took a breath... and oh! "Make sure you're in Park, and then jiggle the steering wheel". "No, it IS in Park, it's not working, I've got to get over there, I'm freaking out, I'm - oh, there it goes. Thanks Mom." Whew. Another crisis averted...

But isn't it nice to know that when she has a problem she still thinks of Mom right away?

Is she in Pullman?? Sorry can't remember if I ever saw it posted?? But, ya, my daughter is in WY and I have had quite a few of those over the last 2 years!! Makes you glad you can still help!! even if it's moral support!! My daughter can be a little on the flighty side, so I have to calm her down so she can think. Good job mom!!!

You have come to the right place I KNOW Cloverleaf farm breeds them. She is in Canby OR. There may also be others on here but I don't remember who.
Hey maybe you could go to the show in Monroe March 17. There will be lots of the people from here.

But I just can't understand why you would want any of these! Yes he is mine and is from Cloverleaf. Right now he is the only Sal Fav I have.

Malvina is apparently well, although I'm still stuck with chickies in the house and Malvina in a small box. Add to that a lingering case of the crud and I am not God's most grateful creature this morning.

I did, by myself, pull down a branch that had fallen heavy-end up, balanced on the twigs which are Bacchus' prefered tasty treat. Not a great photo of the twiggy bits, sorry, but the butt of the branch is about 8" in diameter and the place it broke from is over 20 ft. up:

Must go feed the Hamburgs and then go off to HD.

Sorry your not feeling well!!

Don't be hanging off any branches !!!

He is awesome !
And now my dear, you get to go from a white dog hair furniture setting, to a black dog hair setting.
You may find it necessary to re-apolster everything in your home to a dark color !

I had just been thinking about how much nicer my clothes and furniture would look with the black hair, rather than the white hair. This mutt is going to get himself a bath this afternoon. We don''t know if he has ever had one. This could be quite the learning curve for all of us. DH and I have found that the squirt bottle works wonders on Jet. He is going to learn about inside voices and outside voices. We still haven't introduced him to the chickens yet. We are still working on the little dogs. DH is a worrier, and I just don't
know this dog well enough yet to be able to dis agree. DH is brushing him out, so he can get his bath. So I am going to go help.

Well, hope everyone is enjoying there sunday! I have a question, is it ok if I post pics of the camper I want to convert?? I would like to get some ideas of how to redo it for either brooding ect. This is MY project, I told my husband he doesn't need to help, he is already worried that what I have planned will include him!! I told him I DO NOT want his help!! He can finish the tasks he has set for himself, and not worry about mine. I just thought if I post them, then, you guys can PM me with ideas ect.

Oh and hatch day is tomorrow!!!

ok well gotta get!

Oh BTW I found some very interesting hatching information on the Brinsea site!

It was about egg cooling during incubation! it is very interesting, and makes me not so worried about when my bator kept cooling down!!
heres the link

http://www.epsaegypt.com/pdf/2011_june/15- 1271.pdf

Hmm ok, not sure if that will come across as a link to click, if not you can go to Brinsea.com click on incubation topics and it's under egg cooling during incubation.

oh ok good looks like it did!!!!
