it has amazed me how tough these chicks are, because I know how many mistakes we've made in the past week.

Well of course. CL drew the rooster that is on her gate and I cut it.
Here is one I did for T HI it is 33" diameter.
This one was done for a teacher at Toledo Elementary School.
I think this is the one CL is talking about that she bought in Dec.

Cool I will have to keep that in mind. I want get one for my husband that has to do with tour in Iraq. I myself would love one that said "our family is army strong" with the army star.

CR is the guy that can make a sign like that for you.

Well I just set another 25 eggs. I was reading that hens can lay fertile eggs for up to a month after the roo leaves. So given that I can't eat that many eggs, I may as well see what happens. This gives a lot more hope about the clutch of eggs under the broody hen too.

I am really going to need Heather's cabinet bator. I have a Hovabator, and a LG running right now. But I am fairly sure that I have lost count on how many eggs are in the bators. Clearly more than 37 eggs. I could go count, but that would mean opening up the the bator again. I am so trying to not do that more than I have needed to. The Hovabator with the egg turner in it is scary when the chicks start hatching. I am now going to have to remember to turn the eggs twice a day. I am so not good at remembering things like that.

A month holly thats a long time... I thought it was only 10 days.

Me too on the 10 days. But I am going to to give the extra time a try. I'll let you know.

I thought maybe I had made up the info on the 10 days, so now I know that I must have read it some place along the way.

If any one else is interested FlyRobin and I are having a chicken stock making party on Tuesday. Anyone that wants to join us is more than welcome to come and join the party. I have all of last years bones, backs, wings, and other bits that are going into the pots. Just bring containers to put stock in, and anything that you think would be good in stock. I tend to make sodium free chicken stock. So I will start to think about some lunch for the who ever wants to come to Enumclaw and join in. We are starting the party at 11:00am. Give me a PM, and I will send directions. I am easy to find, just a long ways out the roads. lol
