So, I was looking at my eggs today, and noticed something. Some of the eggs are shiny, and some are matte surfaced. Anyone know the reason for it, are they something to do with breed? (Many of my chickens are just mutts, so some of the EE eggs are a matte blue, but others are shiny?!?!?)

I would bet that the shiney ones are light color and came from Dark Cornish.

Oooo Good to know... I know nothing about goats... I have only seen them at fairs and stuff. My daughter talked to a lady when she was 5 that had a goat living in her house like a puppy. Ever since my daughter heard that she was hooked. She is trying to convince her dad to let her get one here..... Ya I dunno about that. LOL

Totally off topic - but interesting.

I saw what I think was a shoplifting event the other day. I was waiting in the truck at Cebellas, when a man in the opposite car spot walked up and unlocked his car. He then proceeded to strip down his shirts to bare skin (he was wearing quite a few), take some coat hanger out of the back of his car and hang up the shirts from nearest his skin.

Then he put back his outermost tee and his jacket. At first, I thought he was warm and just getting some clothes off; it was a fairly warm day. But then (I'm a bit slow sometimes) I thought to my self, "Self, why is he doing that, why doesn't he just take off his coat and throw it in the back of the car?".

Then he got in and drove off. It hit me - he was loading up on shirts and just walked out of the store with them on under his outer clothes. I was simply not fast enough to get his plate or I would have gone inside and informed the store. That's just wrong. AND, he saw me watching and was so blase about the whole thing. He had a big gut and hanging chests too, UGLY!

ewwwwwwwwwwww!!! I HATE stealers!!!!! And you wonder why the costs are going up??? Thats too bad about not getting the info, but, sometimes, when you aren't exposed to stuff like that on a daily bases, you don't think that what your "seeing", is what your seeing?? Does that make sense?? So, like what happened, it took your brain a bit to register exactly what you WERE seeing!!! It would probably have taken me a few to figure it out too!!!

My himself has captured yet another stink kitty in his hav a hart trap.......

And no way I am going to get it out of there !
Himself had to dispatch the stink kitty with the .22 at which time it squirted like a rain bird sprinkler !!!!!!!!!!!

Himself escaped unsquirted, but the very air vibrates with the oily fumes...so even though he stood way back, the cloud got him.
He is fumey stinky now & I want him out of the cabin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

x2!!! Well what kind of smell would you call that?? Something like derriere!!!! LOL!!!! I crack myself up!!!!
