oooh, I have a bunch of Ancona eggs in right now for chirstineR and some Muscovies in for us too. Himself says he's going to hatch 100 eggs this year - HAH!

I hope it won't snow us out of the show. Maybe we should bring a heater. LOL.
It was quite cold last time.
Good thing I was wearing a hoodie to protect me from the shineys. It ended up keeping me warm too.

Oh yea!! Fresh of course is much different!! And just as JB said, it depends a LOT on how it's handled and especially the buck thing!! I think the biggest thing I've learned is that it need to be cooled down FAST!! pretty much the faster the better. I have to try and get a system figured out for that, I will have a lot of milk this year!!! Zgoat makes soap and it is really nice!! When I was at her house I tried it for the first time!! it's cool stuff!!!

To cool the milk down put in small container and ice water bath or freezer for a bit. The milk from different breeds can taste different also and what you feed them. I can go on and on about it.

I'm looking at this to maybe adapt the chicken garden buffet idea. Plant grasses specifically for the girls, only lay a screened frame over the top so the greens continue to grow and they don't eat them down to the roots. Do you guys think that this pallet garden would adapt well for something like that? I've got pallets available at the wine shop frequently.

Ok so now you have me really thinking. Im going to do that and put a fence around it. Than I can do lots for the chickens and the goats... Great idea
