You asked if I was going to eat that little roo when I caught him ? Are you kidding me?? he's too expense to eat now. I figure with Doctor bills and lost wages, he will have costed me over $8,000. All I can say is he better be one studly roo. cause he owns me BIG TIME now!!

My DW has a torn rotator cuff too. She works the front desk at a P.T. office and she sees lots of patients come in for PT for rotator cuff. some are doing good others are in great pain. so shes in no hurry to have surgery!

Hey guys... SO my Cornish Crosses are gonna be 8 weeks on Tuesday we have set the date for next next Sunday. Kinda nervous about our first shot at butchering. Hopefully it will all go well.i weighted one of cockerels today and he was a little over 8 lbs the hens are somewhat smaller but they are starting to breath funny so its time. I have a quick question however, When should I butcher my Barred Rock Cockerels? Like what age is good? I read about 16 - 18 weeks? Does that sound about right? Thanks Bunches

um, I think that may be right, I might go with 16 vs 18 only because, in my experience, chickens that are not exactly "meaties" are stringy and tough, so I think the younger that you can butcher them and still have some meat on them the better! Just MHO

Try going to your profile, then edit acct details, part way down the page is a box called "remove nested quotes". Try unchecking that box. I'm guessing that is why byc is removing them.
Also, When you quote, you can edit the quotes in the reply box. Lots of stuff you can manipulate there.
See my signature- I did not like the dark grey letters on the medium grey background, so I highlighted and hit the quote button in the toolbar to make it a quotebox.(lightened the background) then I just deleted the word QUOTE:

Just wanted to say it was great fun yesterday seeing BYC friends I've already met and meeting those I hadn't before. Everyone was wonderful! Beautiful birds, nice folks, yummy lunch, great way to spend a Saturday!

I came home with two of CR's little metal chicks (surely sold over 14?!) and now wish I had bought more because they are so cool. Also got my six Ameraucana chicks from Pips N Peeps and two pullets and a new feed bag tote from CL.

Congrats to all whose birds won awards. I do have to specially congratulate WA4-HPoultryMom's girls, who pretty much swept the showmanship classes! Nice going Tamara!

Thanks Robin! That was a first for the girls, to ALL win Champion at the same event!!!! They did good!!!

OK I met a few new peeps that I didn't catch names for. I met 2 just outside while I was trying to hurry in with the little wagon. One said she brought the fridge. Who were you. And is the dead or does it work? It looks like new.

That was me

and my pal Honeysuckle Hills. The mini fridge was only used for beverages at work. It stopped working over a weekend so I just unplugged it. It might easily be fixed - I really haven't tried.

Again I want to say Thank You for making Terry feel at home! I am so glad so many peeps showed up! Glad to catch up with the ones I know already and glad to have met some new peeps!

CL Kennewick show is April 7th, that's the one you sent me in an email! It's a 4 H and open show, donation entry. Seems like a nice group of peeps!

I would like to make a statement, I know that on here I have complained a LOT about my physical aliments and such, I have learned that there are some here that have WAY more issues they could complain about and they don't!! So, I want to commend those peeps and let them know I respect them and know that you will NOT hear me complain about anything, for when I look at the big picture of my current situation......
I really have nothing to complain about! Sometimes I get into the "poor me" mode and it is definitely counter productive!!

Ok, I too want more info on the Kennedwick show! I've heard nothing about it until now! Is there a website with more info? Who is sponsoring it? Where are the entry forms? Not sure if we can go yet, but very interested! Still on the fence about Stevenson. My oldest DD and DH have another commitment that weekend. So don't think we would show. But still want to come just to see! ........

So I just let the "pups" a one year old boxer and a six month old corgi mix meet the one of my chicks face to face with me hovering over of course and they were so gental I couldn't believe it both dogs just laid their and let the chick peck and jump all over them this will be something I'm gonna do everyday so they learn the chicks are part of the pack I took some awesome pic but still have no home Internet and when I try to post from my IPhone it asks for an image URL and my dumb phone won't give me one
