ok so i guess today is the day. One of my cornish cockerels is foaming at them mouth. Time to butcher. I have never done this before and I am nurvoius. I was hoping my husband would be home... Oh well wish me luck guys.

OH my gosh, good luck. You'll have to let us know how you did.

Good luck! Have you watched video's on YouTube? There is a really good one that we followed, let me see if I can find the link.

So I so want to do this, but pulling the skin off and the bird being warm I dont know if I could.. Id like the skin on too I think..

3 weeks? Really? That's encouraging. Thanks Tamara - so I have the one fertile egg in the garage that I've been turning daily. Will a fertile egg hold that long until I can collect a few more? I would much prefer 3 or 4 eggs in the incubator as opposed to one!

Id let it go for a week and than get some eggs to go with it, than you can also put more on as your get them.. Hold them for a week and put in that way y ou get a hatch every week..

I did it YAY... I think I need to invest in a plucker tho

You go girl!!

I am looking for cochins.......pet quality...not picky on color. I just love their fluffiness.

If you raise them, I am interested in a couple. I live in Klickitat Co.

I have blue and black bantam cochins. Are you looking for bantam or LF? I have eggs in the incubator as we speak!
Oh, I also have two mystery bantam chicks. They are from a pen of black split for lavender cochins. But they hatched out pale yellow, I thought they may be dominant white, but now they have black bits feathering in on them, so I have no idea, maybe columbian or something? They are about two weeks old and will have to go.

I think this is the coolest set up ever. Maybe someday I will be able to afford one.

If you ever get one, you will not be disappointed. Himself got one last year, and we can do chickens, ducks and even HUGE turkeys in no time at all. We have a friend come over and bring his birds; they do the work and I provide lunch!

Well I just got back from the Dr.. Good thing is, it's not my shoulder after all. Bad thing, it's "referred" nerve pain from my neck. Probably due to being treated by the chiropractor since December. He says it's most likely due to inflammation from all my manipulations, and that is pressing on the nerves.

But he gave me orders for a CT scan of my neck so we can get a better picture of exactly what is going on there, that we can share with the chiropractor. Although the chiro took x-rays, this will give us a clearer picture of things. He said most likely I just need to hold off on the manipulations in my neck until the swelling goes down. But the CT will tell us if there is anything else going on that we might need to be aware of.

And he gave me good pain meds.

Thats good! I just went to my husbands chiropracter for the first time last week, and guess what?? As I was making the apt, and telling him what was going on?....he diagnosed my hip issue BEFORE I even saw him!!!!! He asked me if they had ever looked at bursitis??? Uh I said NO!!! so when I got off the phone with him I got on line and researched it and guess what??? Yep that's exactly what it is!! I have both Trochanteric Bursitis and Iliopsoas Bursitis!!! When I was reading the symptoms, the causes and the fact that it takes 31 to 40 months to diagnose I was 100% convinced!! So, no to tell my GP!!

Hope the CT goes well and it's nothing serious Tam!! Good luck!!
