Hi Everyone!

I'm Baaaaaack!

I'm so bummed that I could not stay at the show long enough to say Hi to everyone. My MIL and SIL flew in from Texas the night before, and we got to the house around midnight. Everyone was tired and slept late, so we got a late start, and when we got there they wanted to go to the quilt show. MIL recently had a double knee replacement so she was tired an sore from walking around the quilts and wanted to go back to the house. I brought chairs so she would sit, but soon learned that she will only sit in tall chairs with a sturdy table to lean on as she gets up. So we left shortly after arriving. DD was hanging out with the BYC crowd a bit longer as she had no interest in going to the quilt show - she looked at the crowds there and refused to go in. (both my kids seem to have this crowd phobia - they don't even want to go to Disneyland because of potential crowds).

I don't want to sound like a complainer because both MIL and SIL and wonderful people and helped me a lot with the kids homework and some cleaning while they were here. I just wish I would have had a chance to visit with my BYC buddies. They went back home Thursday morning. Everything was covered in snow here and looked stunnng, they liked that. I wish the weather had been like today! Of course I was working so I only got to enjoy it through the window. I also worked a couple of very long shifts when they were here, and felt bad about that. On Wednesday, I just decided to not go in. I had requested the time off more than a month ago and sent my manager many reminder e-mails and notes, and told him countless times, but he is clueless. I showed up only in the morning to help the other tax preparer open, boot the computers, take calls, etc untill the receptionist came in and then I left. I took MIL and SIL to the casino - Buffet, "milk money" slot machines and they were quite happy. So was I as I left less than $3 poorer than I walked in. That was only my second time there. A friend took me there for my birthday a few years ago. It's so close to my house that I am happy I am not a gambler. I played Black Jack with 25 cent bets yesterday. I put a $20 in and left a few hours later with $17.75.

Tomorrow I clean the coops - and boy do they need it! Poop boards have not been scraped in 9 days. I hope the nice weather holds up.

I hope you are all doing well - I see reimarra's heartache and remember those when I was young and in college as being the most painful.

(I also remember a few where I was more ego-broken than heart broken. Nice guys ended with a heartache and handsome but not-so-nice guys with a broken ego. If only my ego was broken I knew I did the right thing by ending the relationship).
