We have skinned our chickens for the last three years. This year I think I am going to borrow CL's plucker. All the chicken gets de-boned before I freeze the meat. I tend to use most of the chicken in casseroles, so skinned chicken works fine. But still I want too have some whole birds, to butterfly and cook on the BBQ, and to do that I have to have a chicken with the skin on.

And I cannot find a pic of the plucker anywhere...had it in my old BYC album but it is gone now...anyways, it works great !

Another night of ROARING SNORING here (lovely

) So I finally decided to just get up !
In doing so, I make HIM get up too !
I used to bail out of bed when he was snoring so bad the windows rattle.and let him sleep.
NOT ANYMORE !!!!!!!!!!!

IF I GOTTA GET UP------HE'S GOTTA GET UP TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love dogs in general but I will have to say that CR and I are definitely in the Australian Shepherd camp.

 

One lady who just bought eggs from me shows & sells minature Aussie shepards.I never knew there was such a thing !

can you share her name with me?? I have someone looking for a pet and another looking for a registered girl

Good morning peeps! I am very excited. I spoke to the Seattle Farm co-op (I'm a member) to see if they had incubators to loan for a classroom hatching project, and/or any chicken processing equipment.

They do have an incubator to loan which I'm picking up today! The teacher is still getting all the permissions needed (the red tape is crazy!) but we're looking at hatching for her mid-April. In the meantime, I have enough time to hatch one other hatch to practice.

So...does anyone in the Seattle/Eastside have eggs that need hatching so I can practice? Nothing too expensive! It's my first incubtor hatch - but it'd be for a good cause as I'd have some practice before we hatch in front of 1st & 2nd graders! Of course you'd get the chicks. And I can do the pickup/dropoff.

And upon my asking they are purchasing a plucker as well and asking what other equipment would be helpful. So happy - this is something I'd never be able to afford versus the lifetime membership to the co-op.

Sounds like he needs a CPAP. DW just got a new one and it is SOO much nicer than the one she has been using.
