Your goat babies are SO cute!!! I'd like to have the little black and white with the white hair on it's head. What kind of goats are they? Hey, I've got a fenced yard! I mean, sure, I live in the middle of the city and I don't think we're allowed to have goats, but I am admittedly already a chicken outlaw. (Supposed to have 4, but somehow I ended up with 12?) Let's see... 1 acre divided by 4 + 48 chickens divided by eleventeen = ... Oh, I don't know. I'm not good at math, but my CHICKENS sure are - just see how they've multiplied!
I have had """friends""" do that sort of thing before. I hate immature spiteful people, acting like children just to hurt you.......good luck !![]()
Glad this doc was sympathetic, and as much as it would be great to have you over here, I hope you don't have to make the special trip!Ok I am back! I will give you a quick review of what my doctor said and then I need to post a rant, not unlike some you have heard before, but, i have to get this off my chest!!
We use to show our goats all over, have some nice stock. Im happy with just having them and no more breeding is fine with me.
Here is a picture of some of our kids..
Oh my you have more will power then I... I would have called them out long before.... I hope things get better.OK here's the RANT!!!![]()
A few of you know that I used to be a licensed Vet Tech, worked in the biz for over 10 years. Now, I do not know what I have done in a previous life or in this life for that matter to deserve a super jerk of a neighbor but....
When we first moved in, the house next to us was foreclosed and no one lived there, things were peaceful for about three or four months, then they put it up for auction. The guy that bought it ,who is my current neighbor?...... well, lets just say there are those people who you just meet and you know they are talking crap, and you leave it at that. Well, believe it or not, I really do try not to be judgmental but, being human, I do on occasion pass judgment! Anyway, it didn't take me long to get this guy's "number" and since then I have seen him :
try to raise calves and lose 3/4 th of them
buy a Thoroughbred colt and try and feed him corn silage and not deworm him! ( I bought the colt and it took me over a month to deworm him enough that he was parasite free!) not to mention bring him back from starvation!
has one dog tied up ALL the time, who barks incessantly over nothing, then gets another pup that does the same thing, ( doesn't alter anything)
she gets preg and now he lets her loose to run! AND ......
Here's the kicker, he buys a Boer cross doe and buckling last year from the Toppenish sales, doesn't castrate her kid, they have been getting out of his pasture EVERYDAY since he has had them, rubbing against the outside of my fences and getting near my girls!! (whom I test and they come from clean herds)
NOW, the doe just had inbred triplets!!! We have a double fence line, not quite sure why but, I have a 2x2 square (I think?) 6 ft no climb horse fence all the way around my house and pasture, and I have a double gate to keep stuff out!! he has a three rail 2 x 4 fence on his side, so there is like foot or two between our fences, his buck has been going in between and almost getting stuck!! his goats have been running around the empty corn field, right out side my fence, and then back around the back in the neighbor's growing wheat field!! ( which is the other side of my property!) Neither the corn field guy or the wheat field guy have homes here, they live down the road or some where else!! So, I get back from town and jeez go figure, one of the kids born today is caught between the fences and mom is like clear across the pasture!! It's been raining all day and it's cold out, especially for a little kid! So, I had to get a ladder and try and get down with my sore hip and move the baby out from between and back in the pasture!!! I succeeded and mom finally heard enough bleats from it, she come out and figured out it was hers!!
I always have to keep my gates closed because either his dog or goats will be in my yard and now that there are 5 goats they will all be running through the fences!!!
Now you ask me, why haven't I called the cops. first off I called the county to find out if this part of Yakima county was free range, It is NOT. So, I asked them what grounds do I have and what can I do, they said call the cops!! We share a huge garbage can with them and Terry didn't want me to stir up any trouble so, I have kept my mouth shut, I do however have a pellet gun and have been shooting at them when they are near my fence! Not to hurt them of course!! But, I have been holding my tongue!! ( some of you also know, I don't take crap from anyone and have been known to blow up)!!! I told Terry this man is the EPITOME of what I fought against as a tech!! I can't stand the sight of him and I just want to rip his head off!!! So, after today, I told Terry I will start taking our garbage to the dump, because I am going to write him a note ( as civil) as I can, and tell him, he is to contain his animals ( he has been in a lawsuit already about other cows he had that were skinny and someone I know took them (with my nbs permission) thinking they were malnourished and was going to be charged with cattle rustling!! And I think the law came back on my neighbor cause he has been feeding his cows,(way more then he ever has)!!
He had to move all of his broken down trucks and cars and farm equipment to this property ( less than two acres) And it look like a fricken you know what hole!!!! Crap every where, nothing ever cleaned up!!! Anyway, I moved out here, to get away from people and live in peace and quiet and so far that has NOT happened!!! One big reason why I became a vet tech I like animals more than people!!! LOL!
Anyway, I have a feeling all hell is going to break loose soon! This guy is WELL aware it's not open range here, and his animals are eating the wheat guy's crop and he doesn't care!! I told Terry, when most of his calves died last year, that I was going to tell him, I would not put up with it this year if he got more, and they started dying! That like a Veterinarian, I took an oath to do the best I could for any animal, that means whether I work for a vet or not!! And that I would turn him in!! But, Thank the Lord he didn't get any more this year!!
Once I give him the note about his animals, then it's fair game!! I WILL call the sheriff out!! It won't hurt my feelings a bit, and all I have to say is he better not even start with me cause I will definitely tell him what I think of his lack of intelligence and his idea of animal husbandry!!!

Ok I think this is probably the longest post I have EVER wrote so I am apologizing now!! I can't promise anything but, I will try not to post so long again!! Soarry!! as the Canadian say!! LOL!!!
Just wanted to say Hi. I am from Central Washington (Wenatchee). We had chickens when I was a kid but this is our first foray into keeping our own chickens.
I am a mom to two boys (6 & 8) and we have a dog and now 8 chickens. I laugh because that is twice as many as I started out thinking we would get. AND I was in Coastal Farm and Ranch today and it took all my willpower not to buy another chicken, two ducks and a goose! Oh, and also, the baby Banties are SO CUTE!!!!
Anybody else from Wenatchee?
