Keep in mind bucks are stinky nasty boys. Also rather spendy to keep to service one or 2 does.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I really would rather not have a buck seeing how I dont have a HUGE amount of property so it would be harder to keep him away from the doe after she had a baby. But I do want milk.... Not much just enough to make soap for my family. I am gonna have to look into seeing if I can find someone who offers breeding services or AI.

So a question about goats milk?.. Would it work to sustain a very young pup. Meaning the pup might be 4 weeks and already taken from the mom...? Or would the new owner have to buy actual pup formula?

NO this is not my dog. Just trying to help a young stupid family member. Well more trying to help the poor pup than anything else...

Cheryl, I've known several folks who've fed pups goat's milk and yogurt with great results.
Speaking of babies, do we have Miss Emily yet?

Sorry for the long time b4 getting back to you. It was mostly constriction. This was the first time I had it done and it was really amazing. Very little pain and now my hands open fully and I can place my palms flat on a table for the 1st time in several years. Unfortunately this is a heritary disease and there is a chance it will occur.
The aftermath is slight swelling (of course it's at the worse spot (joint of middle finger and palm and to the large knuckle of the finger. (not my head) Very little residue pain.
No heavy lifting or work with these hands for the next 2 weeks. Dang, there goes the beginning of the "Spring Cleaning", yay!

I had all my fingers cut off my right hand, in the 80s.....and resewn on, and they cramp up bad from the adhesion...I have to keep that hand warm even though I have Raynaud's & both turn black if I get too cold (below 40 degees F) and me feets !! But this hand gets to claw form, & is so hard to straighten, then if straight too long, it is almost impossible to close it again.....getting old sucks !

Nope, no Emily yet. Im still waiting. Had a 45minutes worth of contractions every 5-1 minutes this morning. Almost decided to go in, but they stopped. Ive become a major home body over the past week.

I only have 4 hens and 2 young pullets outside. I brought them into the bathroom and put them in the shower stall.
That Is Awesome!!!

This made me laugh out loud!

Obvioulsy back from Portland.
Had to see a Dr Klein. I suffer from Duprean's Disease. It's a contricture that draws the fingers down to the palm of the hand by growths in the facia of the palm. Instead of slicing and dicing the hand and all the complacations that follow not to mention lengthy rehab he uses a needle technich that actually pierces and breaks the constrictures free and straigtens the fingers.

Took about 1.5 hrs, fingers are free and functional again although there is still room for more improvement. We will see.

Wow - this therapy sounds very promising - good luck!

Hey guys I have a question. I got 2 EE chicks that were hatched on the 6th.. One is Bigger then the other. The bigger one feathered out first and is almost double the size of the other.... Does this mean I have a Roo? here are some pictures please tell me what you think.

KMoran,
I am no expert at sexing chickens, but want to let you know that EEs are very difficult to sex when they are young.
Last year I had 2, I got from the feedstore, from Privett hatchery.
Like yours grew at different rates
Both grew pointy hackle feathers- a sign of cockerals
Both grew long saddle feathers- a sign of cockerals
One grew long arching sickle tail feathers- a sign of cockerals

I posted pictures and asked; worried that I had 2 roos. And EVERY person who responded said for sure, absolutely the one with the long tail was a male. Almost everyone said the other one was certainly male as well.
I freaked, found a home for them to go to, but couldn't quite let go.
I also got a PM from a member telling me she thought everyone else was wrong and I had 2 pullets.
Fortunately for me and the cockerals; they started laying before they crowed. Lol!

Russ- don't give up hope. (assuming you want pullets)

Thanks for the responces on goats milk. Im gonna call my friend and see if I can get some for the pup.

But for now. Im beat and am heading to bed. Have to get up at 5 and take Dh to work. Then get ready for the baby shower. That is IF I dont wind up in the hospital over night. Right now thats the hardest thing to cope with, is not knowing when.

Anyways, G'night everyone!

Thanks.... Yes I do want pullets I cant have Roos here so I would have to make it dinner or get rid of him. I am hoping but will wait out and see. As long as it doesnt crow I am good lol
