This rumpless girl looks like a copper. I thought she came from you but maybe she was from wcristy. I got OE's from you and BCM's from her at the 2011 Monroe show and hatched them all at the same time. It was a hatching frenzy and chicks were not corralled in an orderly fashion. Anyway the egg was a pretty surprise. The olives on the plate are yours though. I love all the colors.

Rumpless from me ?
None of mine are rumpless, but my Cuckoo Marans do on occaison, lay a plum egg.
Actually it 1 or 2 in the flock that always lay a plum egg.
But none are rumpless, I believe Illia had the Rumpless.

Hope you are doing better !

They are (and me too) are doing Great! It is mind boggling to me that it went so well. No pain today at all. I can comfortably make a fist with my left hand and spread and extend on the fingers without any discomfort. The right hand is pain free and I can make a fist, but the middle finger is still swollen somewhat but again I can extend and spread my fingers.
On a scale of 1 - 10 for success I would rate this as a 9.5 so far. Yay!

Just thought I'd pop in a share the really cool egg we collected yesterday(the one in the middle). Not sure if the computer or my camera did it justice. It is a 4 on the Marans color scale when wet but has the prettiest plum colored matte bloom when dry.
And, no, this is not an early April fools!

Illia talked about plum bloom but I can remember which chickens she said would throw them. We do have 2 WM's from her.
We also have a rumpless girl from CL that lays a chocolate egg so I suppose it could be her. It's a mystery!

What did you fill the eggs with ?
Crows are very smart !

I don't think our chickens will go for them - we put them where the crows go for the duck eggs. Himself used Antifreeze, says it shuts down all their organs but it's supposed to taste pretty nice, which is why lots of animals eat it. And since the antidote is alcohol, and they don't have access too any (I'm pretty sure) then we are hoping it will work.

I'll keep you all posted.
