Update;

My friend with the brain tumor has been back in the hosptal since Saturday. Her friends called 911 and had an ambulance take her after she saw her leg. ER doc said she has a huge blood clot. I am glad she is in the hospital,, only wish it was much sooner. Friends like new doc better than old doc. Seems more concerned. I need another update., and very much want to go see her. I am also very worried that I may have given her the flu. I don't know if she has the flu, but I do.

I have been down with the flu since late Saturday - worst one I have had, but for the most part it seems to be clearing now; so awful but quick. It started with muscle aches on Friday and Saturday. Flu did not cross my mind, but stress did. Then had the chills real bad when I went to sleep, could not get warm no matter how many blankets Don piled on me Saturday night. Woke a few hours later. sweating profusely. Still sweating like crazy, but not like Sunday through about 2 pm on Monday. Every time I got up for a bathroom trip, I leave sweat drips from my face, and chest and back... bedding is heavy with sweat and has to be changed frequently. Terrible migraine, but meds help that a bit - make it tolerable. As of last night, I was able to start eating again, and today I am walking around, mostly because I am worried about my leg - never heard of this flu symptom before:

Left leg is hot and red. This is the same leg, in the same area where I had a staph infection a few years ago, only this is nowhere near as painful as that was. The pain in my leg is from pressure when I stand; not burning and itching like with the staph, and the pain subsides somewhat when my leg is elevated Anybody have any clue what it could be from?

Wow you sound awful !!!!!!!!!!
Hope you get well fast !!!

hey checking in to let CR know I scored a few things for him, but the dump is now "steeling" as scrap steel is now $250. a ton..................

Anyways he let me take a handle style dandelion puller...a large boat gas tank which I figured would do well as a "body" and a few assorted odd handles & a shovel...

DH is now grunging around next door hunting up more stuff for you, as well as the dude next door on the other side who has crap all over his place, equipment, cars, busted stuff, old trailers..............

THE SUN IS OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT BURNS US !!!!!!!!!

IT BURNS US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGGGH Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Hot ! Hot !!!

Instantly 80 degrees..........................then clouds come & it goes down to 45 again..............

Red leg:

Looks and feels like a sunburn. I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow. Boss does not want me in untill I either have this cleared or a note from the doc that it is not contagious.

Never mind the photo- can't figure out the picture thingy.

Hey C.L. - My head is working again! I can think and I can concentrate. I was not down for as long as Don and the kids were, just more intense. They all had the flu shot. Not me. maybe the kids not either, not sure anymore. Don wanted them to get it, I did not. He would have to drive them in for the shot, and he was likely too lazy for that.
How did Gary enjoy his steak? I can sympathize on the spaghetti - that was the last meal I made before I got sick. I was able to eat a real dinner yesterday, though today I have only had the appetite for applesauce (the real stuff, not snow - though nice, cold snow would feel good to roll around in now!)

I think you should go to the DR about your leg.
My DIL has been in the hospital for 12 days now, she's a sick girl. She has meningitis again and her blood platelets went way down just like last time she had it. So they had to give her 6 units of blood and also something else so her body would stop trying to kill it self. Lots of bad stuff out there

I had a friend in Kirkland yesterday call me because she had a couple of coyotes just sitting in her backyard (one side unfenced and open to a greenbelt). She has seen many coyotes in the past, but always in the mornings or evenings on their way to some place. She found it odd that these two were just sitting in her yard like a couple of pet dogs at 1 in the afternoon. She actually thought they might be dogs and was about to chase them off when her husband and daughter told her they were coyotes and they had been sitting there for some time already.

The coyotes come thru my place at all times of day. Anywhere from sun up to sun down. same with the bobcats. I have seen both in mornings, afternoons and evenings. that's how I lost my first couple chickens two years ago. thought the coyotes wouldn't be around at 1;00pm so let the girls out I was WRONG !!

now I stay out there when they are running free

Wow, that is really scary! I hope she recovers soon! I had meningitis in college way back in the 80's, that headache is so intense and your neck gets so stiff that you can't physically turn your head, and it remains sore for weeks after you recover. I did not even have a very severe strain of it. I was helping out a sick friend with it, only it was not diagnosed when I first started helping. She had been helping her sick mom when she contracted it. When the mom's case was confirmed, friend was already sick. The health department was very quick in contacting me (even before I showed any symptoms) because they were trying to get an outbreak under control. I hope your DIL has a lot of good support.

They are outside my fence all the time, but there are tasty chickens tempting them. My girls free-range all the time, but the coyotes can't scale my fence. The Bobcats can though, so if my dogs are not out in the yard, the chickens are in.

My kirkland friend only has cats that are never allowed outdoors. Nothing to tempt them. Maybe it was just a quiet place to relax and sun themselves. Yesterday was a nice warm day.
