Where is everyone tonight?

(Is a crossed beak hereditary? One of my chicks (3 weeks now) has a very slightly crossed beak, that didn't show up at hatch. I'm wondering if I should cull or not. It doesn't seem to have any problems eating - but will it get worse? Other than that she is really gorgeous - the perfect blue.

(She is a project cross, and is one of only two blues that have hatched, although I have 13 more eggs going into lock-down in 3 days)

Red leg:

Looks and feels like a sunburn. I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow. Boss does not want me in untill I either have this cleared or a note from the doc that it is not contagious.

Never mind the photo- can't figure out the picture thingy.

Hey C.L. - My head is working again! I can think and I can concentrate. I was not down for as long as Don and the kids were, just more intense. They all had the flu shot. Not me. maybe the kids not either, not sure anymore. Don wanted them to get it, I did not. He would have to drive them in for the shot, and he was likely too lazy for that.
How did Gary enjoy his steak? I can sympathize on the spaghetti - that was the last meal I made before I got sick. I was able to eat a real dinner yesterday, though today I have only had the appetite for applesauce (the real stuff, not snow - though nice, cold snow would feel good to roll around in now!)

It sounds to me like some things that have happened to me in the past, where I got a nasty flu, and then all h@&& broke loose & ended up with scalded throat, etc, due to my illustrious immunal sytem going completely freak frenzy................What shot was Don having to drive the kids for ?
A flu shot ?
At that point, you already got it.
It takes normally 2 weeks for the immunal system to "blueprint" the nasty & be fully immune.
Flue shots I do not care for.
Anyways, being a molecular biologist you must already know all this "buggy stuff" already.
Hope you are better !
Note: IF you DO have a virus, you know your immunal system will hopefully go after it, and in the wake have to "let" some issues go...so sometimes folks who get a virus end up with all sorts of other lovely things like "cold sores" and so on.
I hope the leg thing is not one of these issues...............imagine.....................get the honey ready !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes and no, can be an issue of incubator temp at day 6, if all was well on day 6-8 at your place, then yes, it is a hereditary issue.
Wether you cull or not, or keep her & trim her is up to you.
I would not breed her .

I think you should go to the DR about your leg.
My DIL has been in the hospital for 12 days now, she's a sick girl. She has meningitis again and her blood platelets went way down just like last time she had it. So they had to give her 6 units of blood and also something else so her body would stop trying to kill it self. Lots of bad stuff out there

I suppose her parents will once again say she is so superior to your son............

hey checking in to let CR know I scored a few things for him, but the dump is now "steeling" as scrap steel is now $250. a ton..................

Anyways he let me take a handle style dandelion puller...a large boat gas tank which I figured would do well as a "body" and a few assorted odd handles & a shovel...

DH is now grunging around next door hunting up more stuff for you, as well as the dude next door on the other side who has crap all over his place, equipment, cars, busted stuff, old trailers..............

THE SUN IS OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT BURNS US !!!!!!!!!

IT BURNS US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGGGH Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Hot ! Hot !!!

Instantly 80 degrees..........................then clouds come & it goes down to 45 again..............

Ya know, it was 80 degrees here, chooks all out...and then a thunder rumble, and I looked out the window and sho' nuff here is BLACK clouds coming all the way to the ground...and it got cold fast, within 15 minutes the temp dropped to 45, and the wind went to 50+ gusts and rain & hail !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chooks took refuge under the bar be que & picnic table...some ran in their coops...........some I had to chase in their coops..............instant 45 degrees !!!!!!!!!! And with the wind feels 35 degrees !!! *** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, you had SUN today? NOt here, but it did not rain buckets, just a normal amount of rain.

Sun ? for a few days in a row intermittadly.........(sp?) we have had sun that would cook your turkey !
Yesterday it was 80, today cloudy & then the sun popped out & the temp went from 45 to 80 in 20 minutes time !!!!!!!!!!!!

And how Dad used to wash & wax the classic car & fresh green lawns were mowed............gardens were planted....parades were conducted...trees blossomed & bees came & fertilized them and so they bore fruit...imagine that !
Honet Bees !!!
(I can see the youngsters faces here as the story is told !!)

Hopefully CR is doing well with the 2 volume bee keeping video I just gave him....is it a good movie for your classes or what ???
