OK so I am gonna give my BYC peeps first shot at this before I post it public.
$100 Can deliver to Stevenson.

I chatted with my DS today, and he mentioned that he was shooting empty gas canisters. I asked him if could get some for you. I will let you know if he comes through with some usable parts for you.

Western Washington folks -

Trying to bring the cost of raising our chickens down since the feed prices keep going up! So after doing a hell of a lot of research and talking with other friends, including our local Grange, we've gotten a small fodder rack system almost ready to go, the biggest thing holding us back is that I'm having trouble finding bulk seed sources locally. Any hopes of finding good sources, organic of the following:

Wheat
Oat Grass (hulled)
Barley seed (whole, not pearl)
Rye
Broccoli
Lentils
BOSS
Mung beans

Thank you!

Anyone interested in a Highland bull? We found someone selling their herd and we only want the three heifers/cows and don't want to mess with trying to keep a bull around. These people will only sell them as a package--so we're hoping to get a buyer for the bull beforehand. :) He's too nice to turn into hamburger, but that's what will happen to him if we can't find a buyer. :(

I so wish that I could have a Highland bull. I am fairly sure that I don't have anywhere for him to stay. I really need a couple of acres and no visible neighbors. lol I hope you can find him a home.

PS Audrey is absolutely adorable. I love the pictures. I agree about wanting another baby girl. It's just as well that I am old and cranky enough to get over the feelings very quickly these days. lol

Welcome back from vacation KMHunter!
Would love to see you so, if you like, let me know when you plan to visit the white egg farmer and maybe we can make it a little party.

A general question - really just asking....

Part of our Easter celebration is coloring eggs. I keep wondering if Annie, my white silkie, would like to "get dressed up" for Easter Sunday.
Could I just dip her in the food coloring?
Just asking.....

Happy Easter!

So did Annie get dipped? I would assume that food coloring would be safe, as long as it didn't get in her eyes. I just don't think that she would ever be her original color until she mottles again.

I haven't ever had much of a problem with my girls going over the fence. Years ago I had one pullet go over the fence several times. The last time she met up with the neighbors German Shepard. We couldn't blame the dog, and we felt bad that the neighbors had to deal with the body. Ginger had been escaping from a temporary run.
My next thoughts are, as long as there are things to do, and eat in the fenced area, that chickens will most likely stay in their yard. The other thing to think about is how much damage chickens can do to a landscape. I have had to limit the time that the chickens can be out in yard, because the lawn has been damaged so much rain, and crazy dogs. Of course I have a much smaller backyard than Mike has.

Hey JB!! How are you girlfriend!!? It's kinda cool to be on here at the same time as you!! I'm on spring break this week so I actually have some time to jump on here finally!!! :celebrate

Well I had a great day. I was able to go and pick up Eenie today. I really enjoyed the day with her. We ended up at the Tropical Fish store in Sumner. I bought some new gravel for the 46 gallon tank, 15 fish. A dozen of Cardinal Tetras are going to go into the 46 g tank. Right now they are hanging out in the 75 gallon tank with the Glass Cats. The other 3 fish are Tin Foil Barbs, and they get to live in the big tank. I think that the 3 TB's that I got from Tomatolady, were very happy to have some kids just like themselves. The Red Tail Shark wasn't very happy with the new kids. But I really don't think that any of the fish will remember that there are 3 new kids in the tank come tomorrow morning.

DH left yesterday for a couple of weeks, so things are back to normal around here. By the end of last week everything was back to very nice. We actually had a date. I love to go and have a dinner in a restaurant, just so that I don't have to eat while being stared at by a pack of dogs.
