I am planning to come this next weekend. that is what I am working on.....the 21st. Will that work? I so want to do. I want my turkles. I should be able to stay with cousin in Duval....or I will just come back or maybe over night at a cheap motel.

Jen?
T-Hi?
Fly?
Will this work for you?
Robin?

Oh let me know what day, maybe I can make it too, oh oh and where at?

Alright, I give. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. These stupid animals are driving me up the wall. I've got two of them in solitary for going after the others, and now the other 3 are pecking each other. I have tried treats, entertainment, extra protein, blue spray, every dang thing I can find to make them stop, but I will not start crafting little coats for these birds and I will not spend another dime on them so help me. The factory farms got it right. Nonsentient, vicious, brainless animals like these don't warrant going to any trouble for so-called "quality of life." If no one wants them they will all be killed this week. Screw it.

Are they young? If so maybe they need a red light on them, having a white one can make them kind of go crazy on each other. You might want to try that first

20 days until graduation!!!!!!

I ran into SadieSue yesterday at Macy's in Moscow. Last place I expected to run into a fellow chicken person.

*coughs* Dad had a surprise this week.... he found a hen with 9 chicks..... I have no idea how that happened....
Except 3 weeks ago during spring break I found a broody nest and removed the coldest eggs from the outside and left her be..... It was all her fault. I participated in no incubation. :p
He said he caught most of the chicks... with a net he said he caught 3 in one sweep..... HEHE.... Imagine MY DAD running around with a net CHASING CHICKENS. Last I heard all but one were put in a brooder with a heat lamp... he cornered the broody into the broken chicken coop and left one chick with her. I have been too busy the past few days to ask for an update. (It was moms weekend here at WSU)

so i am not on much... FB is the better place to find me.

I have 3 papers this week and 2 presentations..... I need productivity though... no motivational steam... stupid senioritis....

I warned mom that after graduation when i am home.... after 3 weeks you will want to kick me out of the house because the laundry room will constantly be chirping....
this is my fb. link if anyone is interested and not already my friend. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=669579612

Quote: Trust me...I am focusing. I don't want to have to do all that. I will be exercising and eating better. I think I am going to join weight watchers on line...to help keep me on track. that way I have to document and "answer" to someone (thing).
I would be willing to share a VERY good eating "PROGRAM" NOT DIET that works very well. Has nothing expensive to buy. It is all regular things from your favorite grocery store. It is just a matter of what you eat. Dump the carbs !
But carbs are yummy...I like carbs. That is the hard one. I am actually sitting here craving a cracker. Actually, sliced cabbage seems to get rid of my craving for crackers...crunchy, almost salty flavor. Raw cabbage...who knew?
And CABBAGE IS one of the GOOD things that this program includes lots of. It is a high protien veg.

Hi! I'm new at the chicken thing. I decided that eggs cost too much and I want to have my own fresh ones. Hm, I don't know about the cost effectiveness of having your own chickens after buying and building a pen, coop, and supplies! Anyway

Well, I posted in the breed/gender forum a few days ago and nobody answered me there. Does anybody here think that my LH is a roo? They are about 6 weeks old. I'm not looking forward to waking up to crowing at 5am, and I've heard that LHs are miserable roos.

I have a BO that I am sure is a roo, so I might keep him around. As for predator alerting, I have that covered with my peahen. She doesn't like ANYTHING. :) Ooooo, I should post the video I took this morning of her bumrushing our cat...so funny to watch! Also, I have a beautiful black star hen Penny that sounds the alarm even when a crow flies over. Pretty neat. She's definitely the "mother hen". I took her and her sister Tiana in when the previous owners brought new hens in and they didn't get along well at all. All the rest of my birds are pullets and it's definitely interesting to watch how the two black stars "have no patience" with the young ones when I bring them out from the brooder. They are the bosses on this here ranch.

Anyway, I am enjoying the playfullness of this forum! I'm glad I'm here.
