Good Morning KMoran

CR: I coud not "quote" your comment - but YOU DON'T LIKE BBQ!!!!

Are you human? LOL. We have a Traeger and I cook on it as much as possible during the summer. Absolutely love it.

Okay, no BBQ for you. what else could I feed you to lure you away from the birds?..."look away from the birds"...."move away from the birds".

FireWifeJess: Talk to VF. He tells me he loves building coops.

Sun: Post photos of your EE and the pros on here should be able to help you. I just don't know EEs well (at all) and I may lead you astray. Sorry.
Sunbug- just make sure you get good photos of their combs. Side by side would be really great! If I could get ahold of Illia then we would really have an expert to tell you what they are!

I'm not sure I saw an answer to your question about that run being enough room. 108s/f for a run should be enough. The most common suggestion you'll see on this site is 10s/f per bird. So you're pretty close to that ratio.

Thank you! I was thinking we should be OK since the run will just be their holding area until I free-range them daily. They'll live

I will talk to DH about you coming and see what he says. He's weird about stuff like that but he also can't build it himself since he's hurt.

Just stopping in to say "Hi". I'm way behind on reading posts, so I'm just going to jump back in right here. Our 5-week-old chicks are doing great. My EE dug a hole in ground of my greenhouse today and began to dust bathe. I've read about it on this site - but reading about it isn't the same as seeing it. That's certainly strange looking.

Today we installed a gravity-based nipple water system in the garage pen. I haven't actually seen them drink from it. I'm hoping they'll learn how. We tried to show them what to do. I'm not exactly sure how to know if they've got the idea down or not without sitting in the garage watching them until I see each of them drink. Any suggestions?

I've actually been looking into getting that system too! Let us know how it goes, I think it's much better than hauling water and cleaning shavings out of water's!! Glad they're doing well!
Glad your back!

So here are my 4 Seramas from Laura of Castle Delight Seramas. Hope you guys aren't too bored with my sharing. I can't wait to see how they feather out, and how many boys or girls I have!
Bored? No way! These are incredibly cute little wee babies!

That's a bummer that they had such a low hatch rate, but these four are beyond adorable. Enjoy them!
