Quote: I am just going to say this..... I read in one of my books or somewhere that you should never let a chicken get too close to your face and eyes, because they will peck.
Not out of meanness but out of curiosity and testing for something to eat.
If this pullet is aggressive to you or others all the time I would get rid of her, if not then I would start to teach the little one how to handle them very carefully(and supervised so he is being safe) and maybe on the lap and facing away from his face.
AND I might not let him hold that one in particular.
I had one that was super friendly until you went to pick her up, then all bets were off.
I just never picked her up unless I absolutely had too.
She was telling me that she didn't like it and I respected that. I have others that don't really mind so it was no big deal.
I might give her a little time and see if there is more aggressive behavior coming from her. Just my thoughts on the matter.
