Thunder boomers here, and now it is POURING! I just got done planting straberries, looked up and saw the thunderhead, walked into the house and BOOM! Chickens all made a mad dash for the coop! Just a few minutes earlier the skies were blue, sun was out, and it was warm!

Hello everyone! Beautiful today!! I posted a few days ago looking for an Easter Egger about 4-7 weeks old. Well I have still not found one BUT I saw this posting today on CL and I know a few other people are looking for some as well. I know my DH will not let me drive from Auburn to Snohomish for a $5 chicken, so maybe this can help someone else out. If anyone does go maybe they could pick me up one or two?! I can pay a little extra?! There are straight run though.

I have a bunch of customers that used to buy from other people in the area (said they switched cause I was nicer and funny aww so sweet) and were very suprized to find white and blue eggs in the cartons. The ones they used to buy were only browns. I have a white leghorn, brown leghorn and a Blue Andilusian (sp?) I want more white egg layers and I am looking for black coper marans as well as EE's.

My egg customers think that white eggs have been bleached. Well they might change their minds when my Breda fowl start laying. They lay white eggs.

How well do your silkies lay? I have read a few different things some say very poor only 1 or less a week but others say average about 3 a week? I am thinking about getting Bearded Splash... is it true that if you bread a Splash to a Splash you get 100% Splash? I know nothing about breeding so just wondering. Thanks

Well the first silkies I had use to lay like crazy. Now the Buff I have ( I paid a pretty penny for they are from CatDance) they have given me in the past 5 month maybe 10 eggs. Im so mad

Ive never had them do this before. My one friend said maybe something is getting the eggs and I just dont know, so Im moving them this weekend and we will see. Yes Splash to Splash should be 100 % Splash at lest in other breeds thats what it is..

you can get a jar of hot water with a lid and put in there to help with the temps. Id take the duds out you dont want them to explode. I cant help you with anymore than that, my LGs that I use have fans.

So you have had her since she was a chick and she's a year now right? I think you should put her in a area by herself and see if she just lays a different color egg. Do you get any tan eggs?

Infection seems to be gone, but my leg is FAT; it fills with fluid from tissue damage as soon as I hang my leg over the side of the bed in the morning. Other than wearing compression stockings, I don't think there is anything left I can do about it. If I sit and "take it easy" all day as instructed, it's actually worse than when I'm moving around a lot. If I keep it elevated above my heart it's fine, but only while it's elevated.

I'm planting my garden now, but I'm starting with starts this year for much of the stuff as I got off to such a late start. It feels good to be outside working in the dirt and watching my crazy chickens. They go CRAZY for Wysteria blossom petals. That little storm that just rolled through knocked a munch more to the ground and all the chickens ran over to eat them. Now the roosters and the cuckoo marans are jumping up high and trying to grab the vines to knock more petals down! They look so funny.
