Juno with her three chicks
love.gif

The one in front is the Blue Copper Marans, the one in back is the mystery bantam #1 (guesses anyone?)

The feed store chicks are doing a much better job of listening to mama Juno now.

This is the mystery bantam #2. Any guesses?

This little Blue Marans is the bravest, youngest chick.

Mama brought them out for the first time today, so cute!

Hope you all have a good day!

Hi Renee! I'm sitting home with William and Jeanine. She's got a few tiny blisters on her hands and just showed me a couple on her feet...he's got a whole mouthful, hands and feet are pretty scarce, but entire diaper area is covered in weeping blisters! Really super extra glad I cloth diaper now...I would hate to think what kind of chemicals could be seeping into those poor wounds if he was in disposable diapers. Isaac took John to church. When he gets back, we'll spend the day outside with the girls in the backyard :)

Just for the record....I have 26 baby seramas right now. Just for estimate sake....let's say half are cockerels. I will be keeping probably 5 cockerels....by this fall I will need to rehome some. If anyone is looking. I want to let them grow out so that I can see who I want to keep. I have babies with 4 different lineages so I am going to be setting up trios/quads from each group. whoever I dont want to keep will be sold.
RW - Your Seramas are VERY pretty! My 4 Seramas are 4 weeks old today. I've got 2 boys and 2 girls which is pretty good, but I only wanted to keep two nests so I'll probably need to find a couple of more girls to go with each boy. I'm guessing that's not going to be easy since everyone needs to find homes for their boys and usually want you to take a pair!

*** phone photos so color shifts with each photo sigh... my wall is a deep emerald forest green

Awwwww! Thanks for the pics!!!

I do have a pair of Serama, and the possible parents of the above chicks available if anyone wants them, please send me a PM. They are on the larger side for Serama's, so not great for show, but fine for pets! Also have at least 1 extra cockerel, possibly two. Will try and get pic's of them today, as well as my current Serama flock as Brechendra may want eggs.

Jessica, I'll try and get a pic of the cuckoo EE/Olive Eggers today!!! Got lots of these too if anyone wants one! Also in black....

Will be working on the Faverolle coop so we can move our lone cockerel keeper out of the Serama coop and the new trio is almost ready to move outside.

I have this rooster that needs a new home.
He was hatched here out of a dark Maran egg that I got from a friend last spring.
I feel bad getting rid of him because he survived 3 hawk attacks since he was a chick and I feel like he deserves a life. BUT I have 6 roosters and need to cut back.

I also have several chicks that I need to rehome. Problem is I think they are all roosters!!! What do you guys do with all your roosters when you hatch?
What about broody hens? I have 5 broody hens right now and I just cant hatch anymore. .
