Did you see the girl and woman walking around with the baby goat? Had a 4-H kid come and get my little girl and her milk bottle down there to show people.
But really hope you havent gotten the corid its so much cheaper out here at plateau vet enumclaw. This office will sell stuff to people and they really know there stuff. If you have a vet that will call them or write a RX they will sell it to you most of the time. I love them

I'm not sure if I saw your goat there or not. There were many animals there on the day we went.

Just curious, does the vet in Enumclaw treat poultry?

There's only a 3 week age gap between oldest and youngest and right now it seems huge when it's 8.5 and 11.5 weeks! I hope they all figure out the new pecking order soon.

Now I'm really curious to see your birds to see how big they grow in 3 weeks. Mine are about the age of your youngest.

 Please dont breed Wheatons to Black Copper , it wont make blues even if its a Blue Wheaton. You will really mess up the gene pool for Marans. I dont mean to be harsh. Now if you tell eveyone what you have done before you sell them I guess its ok. 

We are going to eat them, is that ok with you?

Second no one here means to offend or tell you what to do...

Some of use have to deal with a lot of new chicken owners mixing breeds and then selling them as such and such.... So when we see someone breeding this to that we will speak up and say something about it.

I have to deal with a ton of urban flock owners that want Ameraucana's or Aracuna's that are like theirs... 99.9% of the time they have easter eggers they paid a lot for and they get upset about being told the wrong info by inexperienced new breeders. It makes buying from a "breeder" a unhappy experience.

I sell easter eggers and Ameraucana's when I can but I'm a small urban flock so my breeding capabilities is very narrow.
I always make a point to say this is a Easter Egger that will lay green eggs. it is NOT a Ameraucana.

Many of us also process our roosters for food meat as well as raise birds just for meat.



Oh! does anyone want my mid sized Easter egger mutt rooster? he's a sweetie and would make a good mixed flock guardian.
I also have a mid sized olive egger rooster as well..... Will post on craigslist soon but if you want em for livestock guardians or breeding BYC peeps can have them for free.
I'll be processing on thursday I think. (unless things go crazy again. But my Freezer is full!

I also have a black/lav orp rooster and it looks like a lemon cuckoo rooster for sale
I so wanted the cuckoo to be a hen!

By the skin on my teeth. I've been home for 30 minutes. I got all four jobs done, and didn't really bleed that much. Most important lesson learned:

Bring water-proof shoes to the west side of the state.


Now that I have learned how to make coops and runs, I can make my self some really cool ones!

It's 3 am and I had to come downstairs and check on things. have 4 LF Favs and 2 silkies. 2 more Favs and I think 2 more silkies working on it. I am not sure how anyone gets any sleep at hatch time!

Hey everyone! So....don't flame me. I decided not to quarantine anymore. I got Ricky from Dawn and Princess from Tamara and they are both in great shape! I've inspected them daily since Saturday (yep only 2 days), assessed my risk, and decided to put them in with the bigs. Man, the big girls aren't very nice. There's only a 3 week age gap between oldest and youngest and right now it seems huge when it's 8.5 and 11.5 weeks! I hope they all figure out the new pecking order soon. Princess is beside herself and didn't even go in to roost with the rest tonight, maybe just taking a break from the meanies. last night she spent an hour in the house with me. I had to go out into the run and take her to the roost bars where everyone else was all settled already. I'm confident there's nothing wrong with any of the birds and if there is I knew the risk. I have meds on hand and I'm just keeping a good watch. I don't ever plan to acquire more outsiders as long as these ones breed just fine; hoping to have some of our own chicks in the spring, as long as Ricky steps up and does his job eventually

You get to choose how you manage your flock. No should tell you what to do, we just give advice/guidance.
I have a pair of Favs that I put out in their own coop, sectioned off a part of the general run so that everyone can see each other.
I did this after 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. They were just getting too big for the crate I had them in. I took a risk too. But so far so good.
I know the breeder and her flock is very healthy.
But it was a risk, so don't think you are the only one! Lol!
