Is there a chance Princess may have gape worms instead.

Well...I'm sure there's a chance, I just don't know how big of one. She is 10.5 weeks old. Can she already have worms so badly that they are making her this ill?

Oh goodness the symptoms of Gapeworm in The Chicken Health Handbook sounds exactly like what she is doing! What do I do?

I buy them from 'Louise's CountryCloset (louisescountrycloset.com) and she sews one end of the elastic to a snap, so they are really easy to snap on the bird...love them.

All this chatter about chicken saddles and I'm thinking what the heck would be riding a chicken. Oh. Now I get it!

Thankfully, being rooster free, I won't have to worry about that!

All my girls shared half a head of cabbage and some shredded lettuce. Also some older chopped up tomatoes.

How do y'all give treats like that to your chickens? Throw it on the ground? Too messy to clean up after them. If I put it in a bowl, they still throw it all over the place. How to keep the mess contained when giving scraps so that rodents don't come for leftovers?

I use a suet feeder. Works pretty good. What they do pull out and toss on the ground is easy to pick up.

Here is an idea for those of us that lose power during the stormy days. Solar powered walkway/driveway lites can be brought inside, placed in sand filled receptacles (cheap plastic buckets) and used to lite your way around the house, etc.

OK I know ya all hate lookin at this kind of stuff but here is what happened here today. The silkiebator is 8 / 10 this round, SO FAR. Tomorrow is day 21.

Here are 4 of them in my little paw.


Here is all 8 that have hatched and the 2 yet to hatch.

Great idea but how would ya recharge em if the power is out? We don't get enough sun here.
