In my DH's friend/boss' situation....he never had headaches. That is why this made it so weird. He had had a headache for almost 5 days, was eating asprin like candy (blood thinner). Dale kept telling him to go to the doctor. DH feels almost responsible because he was not more "forceful" to get this guy to go to the doctor. The man was 65 years old. I have told DH you could not have made him go if he did not want to. Doesn't help....DH still feels bad.
Oh man, the aspirin probably helped.....................

No I no longer have OEGB. Sambo is the B Am that is living on borrowed time. Good thing the queen doesn't live closer or she would have already cured his issues.

Also I NO LONGER (as of today) have B RIR !

I am VERY eggscited about the prospects ! ! !

Also just got a cheap car for a few hours of labor. This will be nice as it gets good mileage and the back seat folds so I can stuff chickenz in the trunk and all the way to the front seats. plotting my first late night trip to the midnight chicken supply. Yes you know the one. Down at the corner of grab em and run.
ha ha yes the Queen's hubby does a great job of 'offwithhishead'

Hi CL!! Anything exciting happen while I was gone??
The camera sounds like a lot of FUNN.

Almost like a James Bond movie.
Is something going on at your part of the woods that needs a camera??
I need one too. It would be good to film my neighbour's dog come fertilize my yard.

BUT my excuse would be because something stole 4 of my pretty ducks.
Last week, 2 babies vanished into thin air.
Then a few days ago, 2 adults went bye bye too.
the 7week old babies were in a tractor.
The adults...not sure in open pen or closed pen when they were "abducted".

How come they cant just take the boy ducks.
No feathers, no blood.

Yes we have mink attacking & killing...but they left headless bodies, what a waste.

Sorry to hear, and I do hope they have no idea and put the oil/gas mix in a REALLY nice car

Car prowling and burglary is getting worse around here, hear about it all the time so I'm really sure to lock up.

The night before last one of the kids went out to get something from the car; they forgot to lock it again.

My glove box was open when I got in the car in the morning- sure enough - my GPS was gone.

The only good thing is that I have the serial number; so if they do try to pawn it at a shop they will go where they belong and I will get it back!
I forgot to lock my car (10 years ago ?) and went out in pre-dawn darkness to go to work & got in, and noticed noises in the back seat, and there was a filthy wino sleeping on the back seat !!!!!!!!!!!
he had stolen unripened corn out of my garden & ate them in the car, spit corn all over.
Crushed cig butts out on the back carpet...it freaked me out so bad !
SCREAMED !!!!!!!!!!
The wino ran.
Nasty smelly

I've been on BYC for over a year but have not formally introduced myself to fellow Washingtonians. After 35 years in Seattle, retirement from UW Dept of Surgery, I am happily playing in the sun with my critters! Tri-Cities area. You all are great--just like our wonderful state!

Welcome to all the new peeps !

Sorry to hear ya were visited by less than desirable. Sadly they probably can't get a car new enough to have fuel injection and the pre mix won't bother a carburetor. And actually since there is such a very small amount of oil it probably won't bother injectors either.
I had that happen here once. Then I took a gas can that I was willing to donate to the cause. I made a nice cocktail of engine destruction. Left the can out at the gate. Two days later it was gone and has not happened since. Ya just wanna make sure ya remember not to use said "cocktail" in anything you want to keep running.
I have also learned that if I want to get rid of something just set it by the road with a price on it. The tweakers will steal it in broad daylight. If I put free, it will be there a few days then they will steal it in the middle of the night!

It is getting bad out here also !
We unlock our padlock & hang it on the post when the gate is open...and some idiot stole the pad lock.
Why on earth would anyone want a padlock with no key ???

We have trouble here, as well. Our vehicles get rustled through every few months. I've also seen teens walking around with gas cans and hoses that look like they're stealing gas out of cars.

The strangest thing we've had stolen is my hubby's Boeing badge... twice! He keeps it in his vehicle so he doesn't accidentally forget it. We can't, for the life of us, figure out what they'd want with that. My husband has to immediately report it stolen to get into work, and after that, if the stolen badge is used, the thief is going to be in big trouble!

Chickielady... please tell how difficult it is to set up that camera you posted. I was surprised that it was that cheap. I was expecting a camera system to be in the hundreds of dollars. What other equipment do you have to have?

I've been threatening to get a new camera system for years because of all the break-ins we have around here. Now that I have chicks, too - I'm thinking a couple of cameras might be in order. An added benefit - the side the coop will be on, is also the cul-de-sac side, and it might pick up pictures of night-time car prowlers.

I just don't want to spend more money on a camera system, only to have it be too difficult to set up. I've had one camera system sitting in the garage for years that I spend quite a few hundred dollars on, but could never figure out how to get it to connect to a VCR (yes, it is that old that it was VCR technology).

Thanks!

I just got an email from the young lady who visited my chicks 5 weeks ago along with her mother. She had been very interested in having her own chickens so came and spent the afternoon helping me socialize my chicks and asking very thoughtful questions about chicken keeping. Her mother is a friend of mine from the theater.

She was very excited to let me know that she has a crew who will commence to building her coop next weekend! She has been doing research on different breeds and has decided she'd really like Australorps. She's hoping to get pullets or hens as right now she wants to bypass raising her own chicks. She thought that might be a project for further down the road. Right off hand, I can't think of anyone raising Australorps. Do you guys know any breeders locally? They live in Federal Way.

Thanks!
