I am sorry. there are those on here who have had to deal with this...only their husband got "caught" and had to "pay the price". If they come on they can chose to speak up if they choose to. But we all feel for you and understand your frustration.

Does your DH realize the average DUI cost around $5000. May want to run some numbers past him when he sobers up. Also let him know he could lose his license. That is if he does not crash and kill someone or loose his own life. Very scary. I can simpathize. I am sorry and I feel for you.
Thank you 4312. He knows the consequences of his actions were he to get 'caught'. It's not the DUI and the money - although it would seriously 'hurt'. Driver's license-well, he lives less than 2 miles from his job. I'm more concerned with all of the lives he put in danger. He drives a lifted F350. His truck is a tank. Voluntary manslaughter? Yeah. Living the rest of your life with the consequences? hell yeah.

All I had to do was LOOK at him this morning when he got up. And then I told him I had a change of plans and that the kids and I wouldn't be gone for only 4 days, we are taking off for 8 to spend with friends and family in Oregon. He can sit and spin in his own stew for a while, I need my Mommy.

I started off with around a dozen miscellaneous birds for egg laying. At the present time - including chicks - I have ? I don't know. Let me add:
Hannna and 4 100% English Orps = 5
Che' and 4 Quincy chicks (75% E.Orps) = 5
Trio Seramas on 9 eggs = 3 +?
Layer pen, 1 roo & misc hens = 8
Quincy and Ellen = 2
Grow out pen 5 100% E. Orps = 5
Grow out pen 8 Golden Comets = 8 (for egg laying pen)
Martha with 5 babies (Seramas) = 6
Serama grow out pen = 18
Misc banty pen (good broodies) = 4
Voltron, AC and other serama hen = 3

Is this all of them? Oh yeah, 6 Beltsville Turkeys. okay let me do the current math ....Um this is some 73 birds at present. I'm nuts. Okay, now I need to go and get ready to spend the day in Brewster at a swimmeet. Everyone have a good day.

WOW I can't believe ya got that many birds.

Renee- gorgeous coop!! And yes, you can easily get more birds than 3 in there, I think it would comfortably hold 6 :)
ByN8ture- hilarious pic :)
CR- chicken math sucks! Now I want another coop ;)

Quote: If it were me, I would raise the low roost half way up so she could use it as a step to the high roost.
If that doesn't work, I would take the high roost out and let them all roost on the lower roost for awhile.
Then put the higher roost in and see if they can all get up there.
Just some things I would try if I were in your shoes.

ETA- Did VF build this coop for you? This would make a great additional silkie coop for next spring if I want more!
