Got done a little while ago vaccinating chicks for Marecks with cflaming her DD, and SadieSue. Did 44 birds in just under an hour.  It was great having all the helping hands to get it done fast. And it was way more fun than doing it alone! Thanks ladies!
Carol, you left your syringes here. I will get them back to you! I can drop them by your place and see your coops AND your horses!! We will probably need them next spring at least, right? ;)

Oh, and I got rid of two of my white silkies, but somehow I ended up only being down one. I can't figure out thos chicken math!
Thanks for the Silkie Dana! He( I am pretty sure now too) is doing fine. Very mellow! Oh and I am going to have a good dinner tonight with some good wine to go with it!
We did sort of a trade, instead of me just pawning 2 of mine off onto her! Lol!:lau

I really hope one of those whites is a girl!

Hope everyone is enjoying this Pac NW weather we are having! :he  So tired of the wet stuff!

I remembered my stuff after I got the clucks home.   Thanks for organizing the chicken clinic.  So much more fun than going it alone.

The chickens all look great and none the worse for wear.  Would love to have you come by.  In a few weeks we'll be loaded with blue berries.

Hope you get some nice girls too.

sorry i missed the "clinic"! hey I'll take any extra blueberries! or come pick them if I can find a ride there :D
Blueberry jam.... syrup.... YUM!

Oh I love black licorice what is salty black licorice?  My husband went fishing years ago and got sturgeon I didnt know how to cook it so it all went to the garbage after a while. ( yea it was frozen)

In holland, many candies are salty, not sweet. Some of the licorice is so salty that it makes your mouth pucker

I'm lucky this year.. my old pup has gone mostly deaf.... so thunder storms and fireworks are not much problems like it used to be
Hug Quincy for me... poor pup....

I've purposely always had my dog around "big" noises. The b.c. mix will bark when the big fireworks go off, but they don't "care" per se...it's handy that we can hear the M80s go off from the high school football games from our house too. :) So my dogs aren't "gun shy" at all either...

I actually spent a substantial amount of time with them this evening examining each birds' poo (yeah, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to my hobbies) and nobody had the runs tonight! :celebrate I think Tilda must have just eaten something that didn't agree with her yesterday. Plan: strictly stick to the new food and bleach solution water (with electrolytes tomorrow because we got new birds today), a tiny bit of scratch in the evenings after I'm sure everyone has had their fill of feed and free-range, and give it a good week or two before re-evaluating things. My birds are only between 10.5-13.5 weeks old.

Try feeding them a flock block, all that molasses will really give them the runs! I gave one to my girls when the coop was brand new with fresh light paint. Molasses tirds all over the walls, even higher than the roosts!

Just went out to look. They are down at the Hwy (1/2 mile). I could see the ground flash and then just see the glow up in the clouds when it went off. Seems like a waste to me but then the guy who lives there is dummer than diesel !!! May have to give Q a maglite tranq tonight. gonna try to get to bed.

Good night all.
