Beautiful pictures Dawn!

Vera, I hope it cools down for you.

Well, I survived day one of Cub Camp. Three more to go. I can hardly move. Up, down, squat to get at the boys' level, etc. Holding wood while they hammer. One child managed to hit my thumb pretty hard. Owie! I feel like I worked out in a gym for a few too many hours. If I sit down (like now), I can hardly move when I get back up. Must be a sign of old age.

The four of us station volunteers got through the building of close to 200 lion banks and 200 jeep derby cars. Tomorrow is painting day. Thank goodness... we can give them free rain to exercise their creativity and all we have to do is guide them. I'm grateful they split the Webelos off to another team of volunteers.... I doubt we could have gotten through projects for 310 boys.
I feel you!!! I have been busting my rear to get my silkie pen done and I feel it in every part of my body! And I am not quite done! Gotta do some digging and leveling for the pavers, and then put the footing in the run. I found arbor chips! From local arborists that is sold down at the new feed store on Avondale in Redmond. Like $12 a yard! Awsome stuff! I mat have to get some to top off my other run too!

What a beautiful girl! Thank you for sharing photos of her.

Who here sells hatching eggs for Blue Laced Red Wyandottes? Also, who sells chicks/eggs of light colored (white, blue, gray, etc) easter egger descent? I want to know where I'm getting hatching eggs next spring! I won't be hatching our "mutt" eggs as I know I still want pure-ish bred chickens. I like their look better in my backyard ;)

Oh Ron, I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how you are feeling. Sadly we will be putting our mastiff down in the next few weeks, we keep putting it off but can not any longer as he is in such pain. We have not had him any where near as long as you beloved friend was with you, as he is only 2 yrs. I really hope your pain dulls sooner than later, again I am very sorry.

Where is the feed store in Redmond? I am only 5min from Redmond and need some bedding for the chicks I am getting next week. Would that stuff be good for 5 day old chicks?
I'm so excited to get the chicks home, but I'm really nervous too!

I am SIXTY years old

and today I did the hardest thing of my old life! I had my 16 yr. old GSD Kala put to sleep. she had arthritis so bad she had trouble getting up and down and walking. and her side vision was almost completely gone. I could write a book on what a great dog she was and all the fun we had. but I know some of you have lost Great dogs too in the last couple of years, and you know what I'm talking about and the hurt I'm feeling right now

. I know time will heal things. even though my dog was a big part of our family especially to me , I know she was just a dog and Not Human!

I know several of you have lost parents recently and Dave lost a very young daughter ! I don't know how you guys can go on with that kind of hurt!
I admire you people!

I want to thank Kim !!! she went with me to the vet and even helped me bury Kala what a Sweetheart she is

Ron, I am so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through. 2 weeks ago my mom and I had to make the same hard decision about our 15 year old Dalmatian we had since he was 8 weeks old. It still hurts, and it is still strange going to her house and not seeing him, but time heals all wounds. Take care.

It is on Avondale where the classic nursery was before. Between 116th and 124th.
