DH doesn't know. He won't be home until 10pm.

See how long it takes for him to figure it out on his own!

They are pretty little girls...

And yes...I intend to let DH figure out the newbies on his own. He never goes over to the run. It might be months before they're allowed out to free range with everyone else!

A good reason to not have the Chicken Person in the family build things in the coop:

DH (a gardener) is tired of Building Stuff, and we've been Building Stuff (or tearing it down) for over a year now. He is Done.

So now, I get to build the nesting boxes. Start preparing the corner. "Oh, hello Flyer, you want to be picked up? Hellohellohello! How's my Flyer? And you too? Here chickie. Aaaaawwww...aren't you the chickieboodie? You want a treat?" Work work. "Stop chasing Cooper you little sh**t! Come back Cooper! CooperDeeDooper! Aaaaawwwww! How's Coop-coop-a-doop? Look here? I'm digging some dirt! Can you find something yummy in that dirt? Here's one more shovel full! Ooooo! Look at that fat worm! That one right there. There you numbskull!" Work. Work.

It's hot and I want a popsicle. More tomorrow.

DH would have been finished by now.

well hello everyone.

I've been without internet for several days now. Been doing the last touches of moving. Now to get my house in order. Took my dog Dolly, cat Felix, kittens Yoda and Scar to new house. Yesterday Scar was very lethargic so I picked him up and he just layed on my lap purring. Made him as comfortable as possible and then he just stopped everything. So kids had a little funeral for him. We all miss him even hubby who is so not a cat person. It was Hubby who decided to keep Scar when we moved. So it is a bit sad. I am just happy he went peacefully.

Next to move are the chickens and the ducks. No turkeys. Hubby made a trade for them. His daughter didn't want us to butcher the turkeys so she is getting us 5 frozen ones from the store and her mom is keeping the 3. That's ok with me. Less animals that I have to feed. I wasn't too into the turkeys as much as I am my chickens and ducks. One of my sexlink girls ended up looking like Friar tuck hubby says. She managed to get the top of her head pecked at so bad by the others that it is actually bald. She has her own pen until it is completely healed.

Before I move the chickens and ducks I get to finish securing the pen here. I do not want predators!!! Also build a duck pen with their swimming pool.

Hugs to everyone.

More drama with the Drama! I tell you, that girl! This evening I went out to pick up my big huggable girl and noticed she has a cracked beak. This is my sand-eater, chicken chair baby. I tell you - this girl is driving me bonkers wondering what's going to happen next.

So, now... what am I supposed to do with a cracked beak? It has a jagged crack on the tip of the top beak.
