Well, good night all. I've got to get up early to get my daughter off to Girl Scout camp, and then youngest DS and I need to tackle the newest chicken run.

My little guy seems to have the attention span of a 2-year-old. Very frustrating considering he turns 8 next month, but I'm determined he will help build all of this thing so he can be proud of building something that the family uses (oldest DS and DD helped build the bigger run that's attached to the coop, but my little guy refused to help). I cut most of the wood today, and he and I got 2 walls built. I'm hoping to keep him focused and on task a little better tomorrow. This whole project is about trying to get him involved in a project so he can learn what it is like to accomplish something and be proud of it. He doesn't help at all around the house, and it is very frustrating.

We were assembling a wall today, and he was holding the wood together and all of the sudden every thing fell apart and crashed to the ground. I looked up and he was doing backward somersaults across the yard. I asked him what he was doing, and he said he had the need to do a somersault. That's the kind of craziness I'm dealing with, with the kid.

Oh... DH says I have the chicken math all wrong. He said "We have 3 chickens, a coop with a run, a PVC chicken tractor, and now your building a 3rd run?" I told him we have the wood (got it free), we might as well use it. He told me to stop getting free wood.

I'll take the free wood :D

Renee,
It just so happens that when I put on my J Lo-Destiny's Child Pandora station, David goes outside and starts building chicken coops.

Maybe J Lo and Beyonce can help with all your free wood.
(insert sinister laugh)
