Assuming your not selling anything and want a simple website, the easiest way to set up your own website is to go with a simple blog. They're free, easy to edit, and free =)

So - our Brabanter cockerel has been crowing now for a few weeks; but I'm the only one who knows it

He's really quiet. I've been asking my husband if he hears any crowing and he says "no", so I think most people don't know that the sound he is making is a crow.

So my question is - since he's fourteen weeks now and he's already been crowing for a few weeks, will his crow get louder? Or is there a chance he'll stay this quiet? (I'd love to keep him!)

eta - Hallerlake - are your Brabanter roosters loud? Did they get louder as they got older?

You are pretty close to me. I'm in Puyallup, you take 512 and I'm off the Canyon Rd exit I'm still new on this site, but enjoying it. And learning a lot. It looks like a lot of people get together to visit and learn more about chickens, that is so cool. I used to own a house in University Place, it's a beautiful area. Then we needed a bigger house, so we are in Puyallup now and loving it. This is our first time with chickens, ours are two weeks old now. They sure do have their own little personalities, so cute.

just curious where ya all shop for feed if you live in/near seattle......

I'm on the Eastside but I like go buy the local Scratch & Peck feed at The Portage Grange http://www.portagebaygrange.com/ in Seattle. It's such a neat shop.

I got a hatching eggs from her in June. I can't wait to see how much splash those 2 whites one have. I can't wait to see what new color Orps she'll be hatching next year.

If you decide to you wordpress they have 2 sites. One is for people without a domain name and a host (http://wordpress.com/) and the other is for people that do (http://wordpress.org/). Wordpress does have a lot of plugins and themes to help you customize your site. My http://rusticbynature.com/ is using wordpress.org/ with godaddy as the host.
