NOW is the time and we have no time for any thing other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But will 'see' JB tomorrow~~~~~~~~~~~~
I help if I can tomorrow. I will be a tad later than planned. We were reading the schedule backwards, and it will work out better if we meet up at 9am. So we will be at least a half hour later than I mentioned. It will more like 11am or so. I am going to meet up with CR on the way back. I have the car almost packed up, and I have a working cell again. My handset died, and I ignored it as long as I could. I went out tonight and got a new phone. I really really HATE cell phones, unless I need one.

I actually like mine except the fact that I cant use my canning equipment on it. That's an easy fix, I still get to can all the vegetables that I grow, all my own apples into applesauce, Strawberries , Raspberries and Blueberries from my own garden into jams and freezers. I guess I'm kinda spoiled because I have never had to eat store bought canned fruits, jams or Vega tables and my child never had to eat baby food from the store I made it all myself. Since I had the privilege of learning the craft of canning as the fourth generation woman to live on our farm..Yep looking back I think I'm pretty lucky to of been taught all that, it does seem like kinda a lost art or way of life

A good way of life. Like you said no gardens .

We haven't upgraded the stove that came with the house, so we still have electric coils, but I think the big water bath canner I have is just to heavy for it. Last year we bought me a 2 burner propane cooker for canning on. It's extremely nice to not heat (or steam) up the house as well by canning outside. I set off smoke detectors one year with steam from the canner when I was doing marathon canning. All my uncle has used for the last 20+ years is a propane stove to can everything outside, water bath and pressure canning. Everything has worked very well.
What is the name of the burner by chance. I have a tent that has mesh sides so Im going to try the outside canning this year too

Your oldset boy needs to get over here come fall deer season.................I hopefully will have a place to put him up & YES he will learn alot from the OLD LADY !!!

Quote: I would be willing to be the house with the gas range that has already had experience with being canned on. It's not all that far from here later in the season to run over to Yakima and back. Once Chinook Pass opens it's only a couple of hours at the most. Once the kitchen is done, I will have zinc counter tops. I am not certain how they will hold up to canning, but it would be fun to find out. If I don't like the results I can buff them out and seal them.

Urgh. I can't remember. We picked it up at Sportco on sale last year because I was fed up with the stove. It was pretty steady at the store. It stands just under waist high so it's not to uncomfortable. It has a metal sort of guard thing you can put on that goes around and makes a few inch high wall on the back and sides. We will probably never use that.
