Based on some recent events I have been advised to "back away" from BYC. I know that I have several very good friends here on BYC. Since I have been here I have met a lot of nice people. I figure that if I was really that bad I would not have the friends I do on here. Those who TRULY know me know that I will stand for what I believe in and I don't give up easy. And so I have made the decision to NOT back away. I will stay right here. I have decided instead to do something that I never wanted to do. I am going to test the "BLOCK MEMBER" button. So in case you post to me or try to comment and I don't acknowledge. You can rest assured it is simply because I don't feel that we are compatible enough to spend my time interacting with you.

As a relative newcomer to this forum I certainly don't know you as well as many here do. I mostly do as my generation was frequently told to do...."sit down, shut up and listen and you might just learn something." Which, I guess, qualifies me as a lurker

but I have learned a lot from everyone on this thread and have found that I look forward to seeing your posts, whatever the topic of the day may be. You seem to be friendly, knowledgeable, frequently funny and always willing to share in order to help others here. I am sure that I'm not alone when I say that I would be saddened to see you "back away" from something that you obviously enjoy being a part of and I am glad that you have chosen to just ignore whoever was giving you grief.

Well, it's certainly very quiet tonight - perhaps everyone's doing as I am, making dinner.

Anyway, just some "food" for thought [he-he], regarding the folks who come on threads, and then use pm's to tell others to 'go away', quite frankly I thinks it's cowardly and downright nasty.

If you don't like someone, or the way they post, simply ignore them, don't respond to their post and just let them be. If they are being rude to YOU DIRECTLY, THEN bring it up. IF someone is being rude to someone else, you can bet your bottom dollar the whole thread will take issue with that person, tell him/her off, and then there will be no need to do pm's.

I do understand that if you "think" someone is being rude, or you don't understand a post, that asking in a PM is a nice, polite way of taking it offline. It happens to all of us - we make a post that someone doesn't understand [perhaps it's a longstanding joke and you are a newcomer] so then that's a good place to either take it offline, or simply ASK.

It happened recently to me and RaZ [from MI] - he made a comment about me being a double thread killer, after I had posted about killing the WA thread. The post was humorous, but the person reading was a newbie and didn't understand the topic. She asked, and was answered. No problem.

So, let's all play nice in this sandbox; and if you don't want to play nice, please go somewhere else to be mean. Let the rest of us have out bit of fun

So sorry to hear that CR. I'd rather interact with you and your blatant goofiness than someone who personally attacks because they don't agree with how you do things. Agree to disagree, leave it off of the forum, and move on. I've been wondering why I haven't seen many posts from you while I've been catching up today.

Here is the Appenzeller Spitzhauben from Hallerlake - isn't she a cutie???


Here are all of Blueberry's babies - Blackberry (the other mama) laid her egg and left the chicks over a week ago.


The Easter Eggers are from Ogress' flock. Pretty sure at least two, if not three of these are boys.


Here is Juno with her three chicks, yesterday when she was still hanging with them.
Juno laid her second egg today, and this evening she wanted nothing to do with the chicks. She's done.


The Blue Copper Marans chick from cflaming - pretty sure she is a girl! Beautiful coloring!
