I am so happy i got my first egg today from my duck. She is a Pekin that is 5 months in two days, duck;s name is Shirley. I can not wait for my chickens to start laying.

Don't worry. We understand the first eggs are super exciting. I still have mine from three or four years ago!(my original 5 girls) I blew them out and put name and date laid on them. Lol!

I am a total geek when it comes to my chickens! I love them!

Congrats!! How big is a first duck egg, compared to normal sized chicken eggs? Looks big!

It is about the size of a brown egg it is just longer

The most expensive eggs I've ever eaten! Yup, they're already gone and they were heavenly!

Congrats..... I remember my first eggs.. I was so excited I didnt want to eat them... just wanted to keep them and show everyone When we did eat them they were so yummy So I totally get your "egg cite ment" Hehee sorry I couldnt resist It is very cool thanks for sharing the pics the super cute and lovely little girl.. she looks pretty proud too

Here's another Evil Mom event. I don't have a water system yet for my birds, so I have a big plastic tub out there with water in it. My 5yo son likes to pour dirt in it. So finally I made it his job to check it every day to make sure it is clean and full. He has to be dressed first. <insert maniacal laugh here>

Well here is a little recap. I went to my nephews wedding. It was an AWESOME outdoor wedding with a Bald Eagle soaring over our heads, that's something you just can't plan! I didn't get much time to visit with the Nephew that was getting married but the little time we did get was good. I will be going back more now. I was also invited by the family of the bride to future "family events". And this prettymuch spells out the rest!

She is my sister, I thought I missed her.
Separated for so long, once reunited I realized I was all wrong.
She’s a looser, she’s a boozer.
She’s my mothers daughter but she doesn't act the way mom taught her!

Sounds like the wedding was amazing and Im glad you got to spend a bit of time with nephew.... and for what its worth... I totally understand and sympathize with the other comment

Oh man that's really sad. When we talked on the phone I thought you would have a happy reunion with your sibling. Sorry it didn't work out that way CR.

Went fishing this am, got skunked but didn't really care. It was very quiet and pleasant.
Got home and the girls gave me another 6 eggs. 6 outta 7 hens..
