Can anybody tell me where Redmond is and do they have bright street lights. Planning my next shoppng trip and I think it will start right here!!

Redmond is a bit north of Seattle (closer to Bellevue) on 405. Don't know about the street lights, though!

Well, good night all. I'm not sure when I'll be back online. We have a busy few days ahead of us. We'll be celebrating my twin's birthdays at Silverwood on Sunday and Monday. They are very excited!

I got caught up reading the posts - with the weather you have had makes me a little more nervous for my girls. I'm hoping all is well.

Congrats to those of you who have new egg layers!

Hugs to all who are affected by the fires. I looked up both Washington and Idaho's fires. It sounds like Idaho is getting hit hard, as well. The Old Faithful Lodge had their flags flying at half mast today because of the Idaho fires (I'm still trying to figure out where - but part of Yellowstone is supposed to be in Idaho).

I am thinking long and hard about what type of chicks I want to get in the spring. If I have a broody I'm not sure if I want to get eggs or chicks either! Guess I will have to see what color eggs I'm getting in my basket by then and who I like the best, and/or if I want to try new breeds or stick with ones I have already. I sure do like variety and lighter colored birds though

I think they have pretty good street lights. I used to work up there. It's Microsoft territory - everything is beautifully built. CR, you should have no problems seeing in the dark!

Black Australorps are nice birds. My Pudge is a friendly little bugger and she's awfully pretty in the sun! Everyone I've talked to loves 'lorps too, so you can't really go wrong if you get one.

I got 36 Cornish X..... They are so cute very active little things they remind me of pinballs running around LOL . I keep telling the kids to NOT get attached. But here's the funny thing..... There are four additional little chicks that look nothing like the other... Hmmmmmm I have no idea how that happened

Im pretty sure these 4 are 2 Gold Wynadotte and 2 Blue Laced Wynadottes.. Yep thats what they are.. pretty cool because that is just the breed I have been looking at :) Cool how that worked out...

So this was the conversation at the brooder coop today :)

Husband: " Honey??? Why do those chicks look so different from all the rest?"

JNB: Hmmmm I dont know dear maybe those 4 are Roosters (snickers and looks innocent) "

Husband: "Oh OK..... Wait a minute...Theres more than 36 here!!!! Wife what have you done???"

JNB " Whaaaaaat...??? I really dont know dear...they must have just wandered in ??? The chicken stork??" I love you honey have I told you your the best hubby ever ????" Heheehee

Ill post pictures of the babies if anyone wants to see them :)

Have fun at Silverwood.. We just got back from there 2 weeks ago... So much fun..... We LOVE it there.Fantastic place for a Birthday :)

I saw that too! They sound amazing. Who has Wheaten Ameraucana?
HI All, Think that the cross is kinda neat too....Love Faverolles and have had them for several years and yes they can often be at the bottom of the pecking order in some mixed groups...and have also found Ameraucanas being more assertive....I only have Black/blues right now.....But Royce Blaricome (sp) in Granite Falls???? has had the Wheatons for several years....Can find his contact info if anyone is interested. He is also a member of Washington Feather Fanciers..... and on several other breed threads too....Barnevelder is one.

Think Jeanine (Cloverleaf) has black/blue bantam Ameraucanas, and some real super Faverolles....

Re coops, Most of my birds live outside in protected open coops that have side walls and roof....and i have low light 24/7. I try to bring the bantams in the barn for the winter.
