Hello Friends: I am two weeks behind. I had lots of Drama and Trauma at my home and I was sick....so I am insane behind. I lost my pomeranian (did I tell you this already?)...She was 14.5 and had congestive heart failure. She was having a hard time breathing and I decided to take her to the vet on a Monday morning. Went to work at 7, called the vet at 8:30, they told me to come right in. Got Sabyle....Took her into vet...Kim (front desk lady) went to put me straight into a room...I'm like "don't you want her weight?...she has lost a lot". As I bent over to put her on the scale....Sabyle went limp and quit breathing. I was rushed into a room. I told Dr. Denise that I think she is gone...Denise told me "not quite...but let's not make her wait any longer". She was my baby. It still hurts.

Well, the next day I went to work. I could not stop crying and all the recent stress came out. I ended up in the ER with an anxiety attack. I am now on medication to help minimize it. It was awful. but I am doing very well, but I miss my fuzzy baby.

I miss reading/talking with all of you...but just been too busy and trying to keep up with kids. Please know that I love and miss you all and I will be back this winter to chat.
I don't know if you remember about 1 1/2 years ago. Somebody else here ended up in a similar situation. I know it's not easy but ya gotta get a grip on the triggers.

I know exactly how it can be.

I cried for several days when I lost my 15 year old schipperke last year. Even now I miss her a ton.

I too know how you are feeling. My heart go's out to you

I'm soo sorry. I had to let my 16 yr old German Shepherd (kala) go Forty days ago. There is not a waking hour that I do not think of her. She was always by my side. So many things go through your mind like I betrayed her, or put her down too soon. But each day it does get a bit easier. I wish you the best and that soon you will be able to think of the good times you had with your dog

Yeah, I have raccoons in my yard day & night, every day. So much for the nocturnal thing. The chickens don't even react to them. That's why I increased the run this year. I can't freerange without supervision.
Here's a couple more pictures. All are from the last couple weeks.

You have to see the Irony that in that top pic that cat is just watching the raccoon.. like its given up on defending against vermin... *sigh* get a Jack Russel?

Thank you everyone. I am getting better. The stairs to get on the bed have been one of the hard things for me to part with. They are still there. I reach for Sabyle regularly...I do miss her.

CR: Thank you. I am.

Ron: I can feel your pain. It is hard.

Greg: I went and watched. Loved the poem. Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor. of course brought a tear to my eyes.

Thank you all. God Bless.

Sorry about those who've lost pets lately :( Hard!

Today I cleaned out the run and got some things ready (early!) for our trip next week. We leave Saturday! I guess I should have mentioned I'm not a WorldMark owner either; my in-laws are and they've given us this week

Well I finally got the new ordinances in the mail today! So, for anyone else who lives in Lynnwood, the following are the new rules for poultry. Supposedly they went into effect in March. I don't know why they haven't gotten them online, even though it's August! It's kind of hard to obey the laws when the city puts incorrect information on their website!

Parts of the new law are good, parts are excessively micromanaging, and several parts made me say "well, duh!". I am rather annoyed that I can't raise extra chickens for meat and process them. And the part about solid, sight-obscuring fences is idiotic. Chickens need light, I'm not going to shut mine up inside solid walls just in case a neighbor is disgusted by the sight of birds.

I'm posting the summary of regulations that they sent me. It's for Ordinance No. 2936.

IF this is the actual regulations as they are written and on record. This is SO FULL OF HOLES ! ! ! Myself I would challenge the entire regulations by ignoring it. But then I feel it is easier to just do it and IF caught beg forgiveness than to seek and receive permission.
